The FZ28 is on at £229 which seems a good price (for the Black) use code 3150AW for an extra 3% off, was showing in stock...think the code ends the at end of the month so only a few days left. camera has good reviews.

Hi
Thanks for posting. I have added an image to your post.
This is a link, made by rayman, which explains how to add images in great detail. It’s worth taking a look at if you are going to post more deals in future : - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/339941/how-to-post-and-host-images-for-thr/

I have this camera and it takes stunning photos, probably the closest you can get to a DSLR.

The anti shake even on 18x zoom is stunning.

Low quality image I took, the scaled up version is amazing!

Good price, BUT Panasonic have just announced the successor - the FZ38, which is due to hit the shops in a couple of weeks (11th August according to Panasonic).

The latest version is slightly faster focusing, has a better image processing engine, and improved "HD" video with a decent stereo mic (for a camera). Also has more pixels crammed in to the same sized sensor which may not be so good! Not really a worthy upgrade unless you need the speed or video floats your boat.

I suspect a few places will be discounting their remaining stocks of the FZ28 over the next couple of weeks, with the new FZ38 falling in price as winter kicks in.

sorry, I just woke up but I can't see where it mentions how many mega pixels this thing is capable of! :(

anyone know?

My ex girlfriend bought this camera at christmas for the same price (internet retailer). It was not on promotion so this does not seem particularly hot.. Maybe a good price for high street retailer though.

Yeah the zoom is amazing... I assume that plane was at 30,000 feet? ;) I have the FZ28 and it is a great camera, but the mic is crap on the video. Just not worth videoing even in HD unless there is no sound. I'd probably go for the FZ38 but more pixels, same size sensor = more noise. As ever, cameras are a compromise!
#10
Doubt it was at 30,00 feet with its landing gear down !
#11
first "gadget" I bought which is more expensive than when I bought it (£210 - when newly released)

excellent camera btw

30, 000 feet, with landing gears down... the pilot would loose control and it wont be a very happy ending for the 200-230 people on board.

no, it's not 30,000 feet lol, the plane must have just taken off or is just about to land.

[edit] I would say it was landing by the angle of the wing flaps

I don't know what the price will actually be for the FZ38 but it may well be worth waiting for, it looks like it's inheriting some parts from the GH1 particularly the AF and the mics. The CDAF in the G1/GH1 is not far off SLR speeds which is very impressive and the audio through the new builtin mic is a big improvement on the likes of the LX3 at least.

You won't get it in a jean pocket but you will be able to get it into a jacket side pocket without too many problems.

HOLY **** :| that's awesome.
Is that at 80 ISO?
#31
What I can say is Great camera at affordable price. I love panasonic cameras.
#32
I don't know much about ISO, I just set it to automatic point and shoot with no tripod.

Played about with the manual mode and got some really good waterfall shots also.

forgot to add, 3.5% cashback with topcashback (4% quidco), bringing it down to around £216-ish. as per prev posts, perhaps this camera price will fall more when the new (but expensive) replacement model hits the retailers...
#35
Flaming hell - here it is the camera I am after and now I'm online its £239.99!
