***Posted this a few days ago when it was £359. Held off to see what would happen today as the price then was valid until today (15/2). Reduced even further to this. Total bargain!***

Been looking around for a while for an HD camcorder, and saw this whilst in Argos yesterday. Seems to me to be a decent price, next cheapest seems to be around the £410 mark. I was going to go for the flash card version the SD60 which is currently £299 at John Lewis, but would need to add on £ for an SD. Don't think I'd get a 120gb SD card for £60! DOn't know how many will be available, but I've got one reserved local to me.

Oh, and the one I had reserved at Glasgow Silverburn is available again.

Seems a good deal, but not much stock available
#4
Yeah might be tough finding stock but really is a cracking price
#5
Top deal this one - gets a good review on Amazon

Difficult to locate stock in the North West but managed to bag one

Bought one last year for the family holiday - fantastic camcorder. Paid £320 at Comet and at the time that was a good deal. Heat added

I've got the SD version and the output is amazing. The face recognition and "smile photo" works well, but there are limited slots.

The battery has to be charged connected to the camcorder.
You'll need a computer to get the converted files off even with the SD version.

Just a few questions if anyone has this model.....

Does anyone know if this camcorder (and the included editing programme) is compatible with the basic Windows 7, and if so is it easy to edit/burn, etc and is the quality good? Does the still photo's get stored onto the hard-drive or Sd card?
I've got a normal mini dv cam at the mo and have trouble with Windows 7 recognising it, altho my sons old Windows XP has recognised it but the picture quality/sound speed was terrible, so would love to have a camcorder that i can just plug in and edit with ease then burn/upload to internet without losing quality......

I've managed to reserve the last one 30 miles away and will pick it up either later today or tomoro so any reviews as soon as poss would be great!!! Thanks :)

********** Been and bought this model and so far am extremely happy with it! Connected and playing perfect on my Windows 7 laptop. Snap-shot photo's much better quality than expected (this woz an imporatant feature for me) and even edited my first movie (with Windows Movie Maker not HD Writer AE) *********

Cant find any stock ......

Good price indeed but not much stock. Closest I can find is south wales, shame I live in the Midlands.

Surely the price of these is set to fall across the board though, replacement models coming out soon.

Looks like out of my 10 nearest stores there's only one left in Gateshead so be quick!

bought one last week , the prog with it is win 7 compatible as you would expect . regarding the recording and photos you have the option of using either hdd or sd for either . I choose to save photo to sd and cam to hdd but you can use any combination

Having said that it doesnt work on my 64bit laptop !

I bought the HDC SD60 version (no built in HDD or Flash memory) for my daughter's 18th just before Christmas from Amazon for £273. Bought a couple of the Transcend 8gb Class 10 cards that were on offer at the time. Liked the idea of not having built in memory that could go wrong, particularly a mechanical HDD.

Very highly reviewed camera. Usual Panasonic quality and reliability.

This particular offer NOT available in Shepton Mallet, Bath, Yeovil, Midsomer Norton, Bristol, Yate, Frome, Trowbridge, Chippenham Warminster, Weston Super mare, Taunton, Minehead, Honiton or Tiverton.

Just bought Cyberlink Power Director Ultra 64 video editing software (first one developed from scratch specifically to work with Windows 7 64 bit) as free applications like Windows Movie Maker too limited for my daughter's needs (doing Film Studies A level). If anyone is interested in this software there is a seller on that well known site beginning with e and ending with a y who sells this far cheaper than anyone else I could find. Just pm me and I can give you details (no I'm not related nor have anything to gain!).

Yet another rocking horse poo of a deal from Argos.... hot price if you can find one.

that argos search engine is a right pain...makes you jump through hoops and you still end up with sod all.....why dont they just flag up the stores that have availability?

Great camera. Great price. Hot(_;)

superb bit of kit ... I have one and love it.

argos reduces their prices when they have just 5-6 around the country, its part of the luck if you find one near you, but for others is it worth traveling 40 odd miles for this?

some times people reserve them and then dont buy them so others miss out as well.

Great deal.

If anyone can find one then is hot!
