Something like this would be good. I have one - never had a problem and has a fast read/write rate:

If you really want one of these, then this is a great price. However, the trouble with this - and many similar devices - is that it's very poor at coping with motion. Fine if you want a video of a largely static scene, but no good for panning or for scenes with significant action. Definitely not a substitute for a real camcorder.

I bought the HM-TA1 for £35 a few years back and have used it so many times with amazing results. Even the old version produces better quality HD video than my iPhone and let's face it - who wants to take their iPhone out to film whilst on the beach or in a club etc!!

I do a lot of filming in clubs etc and the audio quality on recordings is the big win with this, much less distortion at high volumes compared to my phone as well as other video's I have compared from different phones that my mates have taken with them. The HM-TA1 always shoots better all round video and audio than any smartphone - (I've seen and compared)

It looks like night vision / performance and screen size have improved on this updated model. However, with that said, I think it adds a touch screen over the old model, which may hamper navigation of functions a bit compared to the HM-TA1 - but for this price, you won't find a better option. Great find Op - Thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to getting mine delivered.

edt: I do agree with Decentbloke - Buy and enjoy this for what it is, and don't compare it, or expect it to be something that it's not and you will be happy. :)

    Does this have image stabilisation?

    The product description says:

    E.I.S. (Electrical Image Stabilizer)
The E.I.S. (Electrical Image Stabilizer) system helps to correct the kind of hand-shake blurring that often happens with compact cameras. Record all the images you want, whether you're shooting while walking or taking self-portraits, without having to worry about blurring.

Actually, mine is pretty damn good. I just got back from 2 weeks away and didn't charge it at all. I also got well over an hour of footage in total. I'm happy with that. Again. Think £35.!!

@ £35 This is a good deal for a throw away / who cares if you lose it cam.

This is a fantastic price for an entry level camera for stationary things like blogging or single scene project work. I've just ordered one :3
