I bought this from my local Currys branch. Amazon is selling this for £61.49.

I don't know how good these phones are. But the best deal for the triple cordless phone after doing research on the Internet and High Street retailers such as Asda, Tesco, Maplin, Comet, Argos and Sainsbury.

I also noticed that the Twin version is also available for the same price.
The only downside of this is it does not have voicemail function.

You are absolutely right. I was comparing this one with Argos Wharfedale Twin packs. I bought this Panasonic in the end.

I haven't tried them yet. So I don't know how loud the ringtones are.

Don't give up easily on locating the stock as I know there are plenty of stock in London stores. This is a nationwide deal.

Does anyone know if this can be used as an intercom if not plugged into a phone socket ?

It does have an intercom function, but the user manual makes no special mention of using it without being plugged into a phone line. Link to user guide

I see no reason why the intercom should not work, while the phone base is not plugged into a phone line. Only difference you may see is a constantly flashing symbol on the LCD, warning you that it is not plugged into a phone line.

Ordered one for collection at store. Perfect for my elderly dad so he doesn't have to chase a handset when someone calls.

Yes, they should do.
I have an older model and they can be used like that. They do need to be plugged into the mains for charging but don't need the external phone line for the paging facility to work.

hi. with all my previous phones, when the phone rings, you can hear the ringing coming from the base unit only instead of the actual phone... which obviously is a massive pain in the butt for when your trying to find the it. :x
does anyone know if the same things will happen to this phone?? we have a very big house so if this phone doesnt have that particular problem it'll be perfect seeing as there are 3 phones and 3 base units.

does it have a speakerphone?

(something that should be standard!)

Don't think so. Unfortunately the website with the user manuals is down at the moment, so I can't actually check.

Just checked the German user manual, no mention of a speaker phone function. It does have a built in alarm clock so. :-D

These are not GAP compatible, it states in the hand book they will only work with the hand set supplied and this was confirmed with a phone call, nor are they a speaker phone these are a basic and at the price a reasonable DECT Phone no SMS but at £29 . 97 less than £10 per hand set.

So these are better than Siemens DECT handsets?! Purleese!! :-D:w00t: Glad you qualified it with IMHO!

They make good handsets for the money. No disrespect, but the model here is very basic - no speakerphone, mono lcd, no SMS?! That is a serious lack of functionality which is standard on even basic units these days.

I would rather pay ~£20 more to get the featureset I need as phones are so essential and probably last most folks on average 5+ years.

I agreed. I have tried several other brands. Panasonic are the best.

Yes, it doesn't have fancy feature such as color screen, voicemail and other stuff but it does it job properly.

Still the best value for money.
