I was wondering the same when I got my twin set :)

you only need one phone socket, the others need just electric sockets

Nope you shouldn't do. They are digital therefore all work off the same main handset line and simply pick up the line from there. So just the one line is needed.

I have a question for anybody in the know.
If I take a call on one hand set, could somebody pick up one of the others and listen in on my conversation. If I didn't want this to happen is there a privacy button or sumfink?
Thanks in anticipation.

Normally DECT (digital) phones prevent this from happening

Edit: I take it back; I can't see anywhere where these are described as DECT phones!

Yes they can, not sure if there is a privacy feature. Talking about anything interesting?

Not a bad deal at all.

I wish the phone has an answering machine and an intercom function between the handsets but can't really complain for the price one is paying.

Right listen up..
You only need one telephone line socket. The others only require power.
When you pick up no one else can hear unless you transfer the call.
On transfer everyone can talk listen (called conference)or the first person transfers the call then hangs up.
Yes they will work on Vermin landlines.
Once fully charged do not constantly replace in the holder as constant recharging reduces battery life to about 1 Year
Finally as the ringtone can be quite a shrill reduce it's volume or change for a more softer tone.
i hope this helps, and by the way Panasonic phones are excellent, easy to set up & use and very reliable so this is hot for me!

Well spotted.

I have 4 Siemens and they cost quadruple this excellent price.

#25

We have Panasonic DECT phones (KXTG8323) similar to these, but with an answering machine.

They are excellent except the ring tomes are VERY quite - hopefully the model in the deal doesn't have the same issue and even so with 4 handsets you should be able to have one in the most used rooms...

Regarding listening to conversations; if two (or more) extensions are picked-up at about the same time they'll both (all) connect - it has to be almost exactly the same time but we've had it happen several times (this was the same on our old Medion phones). After the call is connected other hand-sets show the message "IN USE" and can't be used unless the call is transferred.
We do have a Plantronics hands-free synced with the set and you can pick-up the call on that any time without anyone knowing.

Edit: HOT deal - very good price for a Quad set.

Many thanks for spotting these, my phones conked out a few days ago so needed to find a replacement asap for a good price. Ordered these as soon as I saw them:)

My only difficulty is that I don't see this model listed anywhere else. This means I am unable to verify if it is really a good price for these particular ones or not. I am also unable to see how much Argos were selling them for and for how long. I want to be able to check that it is a good deal for the phones and not a set that has been spec'd down to sell cheaply.

As Shrek says, we have always put our phones back in the chargers and the batteries have lasted years.
Can't hear others calls either.
