We've got a slightly different version of these phones and have been very pleased with them - probably about a year old now and have easily withstood the rigours of family life! So for just over a tenner a phone this has to be a hot deal.

Only a fiver more than the twin set from tesco (which has now sold out). Very hot. First responder must have been unlucky because Panasonic make some of the best DECT handsets - my company (telecoms) always sells Pannys if people want analogue DECTs.

Will be ordering if I can confirm they are individually boxed and not in one box - as I only want to give 2 away.

They come in one box.

Damn - do you reckon I could remove one of the single phones without it being obvious. I want them for my Nan but she only really needs one for downstairs and one for upstairs - and I could use the other as Im one short in my house.

Agreed! I've had various sets over the years without a problem ever.

I only change them (a) to upgrade to a newer model or (b) because the women in this house manage to get them covered in greasy makeup [euugh!] which they never clean off and this eventually degrades the clarity of the buttons and screen!

H&R added

BT failure rates are 10-15% Panasonics and Siemens are the most reliable.

I've supplied Panasonics and never had a customer return, I can't say the same for BT handsets which are badged handsets farmed out to the cheapest manufacturer.

BTW lots of Panasonics will only work with the supplied phone cord, they use non-standard cabling, but that's not always mentioned in the manual.

Excellent price for a branded trio of phones, not the most aesthetic IMHO but will do the job.

The problem with Panny is the recent decision of their marketing department to have everything proprietor from cables to batteries, so you won't be able to use generic stuff on their products. Arrogance, with the effect that Panny is off my shopping list, for everything.

Does the base station have a speakerphone?

EDIT: Yes it does!

Brilliant, ordered to deliver to store tomorrow!

I have had two sets of Pansonic phones and changed the battery in my current one and I only changed the first set because my boy decided to throw the phone in the bath!!!

They are easy to use and have worked very well, absolutely no problems. Have had the BT ones in the past, but never liked them.

Ordered, voted hot and repped..

Great find.

Great deal. Heat and rep. Backlight, speakerphone, answerphone; everything you could want apart from "night mode". But then again most people never use that.
For the record my panasonic handset uses normal rechargeable AAA batteries (I replaced the standard ones with higher capacity) and its newer than this model.

Sod it, decided to order.

The usual problem with cordless phones comes when the batteries fail.
The batteries in these are rechargeable AAA, so no problems there.

Hot from me.

I have had two sets too, and I still have them!

Most in my family, and a couple of friends now have Panasonics too, after all the problems with other brands, BT (owned 2 different sets, from the first model which was 120 quid for ONE!) being as poor as really cheap ones in my experience!

That said I have never had any DECT phones go bust, just had poor performance from ALL except Panasonic.

I got twin pansonic dect phone had if for around 6 years now and still works great

Tempted at this mealy because I liked more phones

Our Panasonic phone is great because you can select ring tones for different people on address book and also family member so if someone rings daughter you know instantly the call is for them by the ring tone

Hot from me.

Since when did cordless phones ever come without rechargeable batteries?!

Even years ago the old crackly cordless ones had Nicad cells, and while changing them wasn't as easy as with AA or AAA batteries, they can still be bought, although who in their right mind would bother!
#21
I am still using the old rechargeables in my 6 year old phone
#22
When I add it to basket it says £54.95

Its now gone up to £54.95 same price as Dixons now

I had it my my basket as old price but went to pay and it shot up
#23

Indeed, it may well have been a misprice at £34.95, as it still states £20 off at £54.95.

I wasn't emphasising the fact that the batteries are rechargeable (since that is blindingly obvious to most people), I was emphasising that the batteries are AAA (and therefore replacable if they fail).
