Great bridge camera - well worth the money.

Gets excellent reviews.
I have a compact camera, plus SLR, plus separate video camera. To be honest, it's too much kit and so i've been looking to consolidate. This camera seems to be the answer.
Heat added. Thanks for sharing the info.

Why two?
#9
Because the Mrs always pinched a shot of my one all the time so she got one for her birthday

am i kind or what :-)

Have some heat. I'm tempted.

What are the chances of this camera ever going below the £200 price barrier?
#11
This keeps creeping down in price a lot so I'm guessing the updated version is around the corner now.
#12
This site is costing me a fortune! Got a Z65 a while ago as an extra camera (from a recommended HUKD post - and find it great incidentally), but now realise that life will be further enhanced by the purchase of the above. Missed the Z28 £99 deal @ Currys a while back. What chance of a sub-£200 deal for this snapper shortly?
#13
£218 this morning when I bought it :( Oh well...

Just had a heart attack as I bought one a couple of hours ago and thought it was now reduced further lol.

This is NOT expired and a great piece of kit for the money!

works ok for me at £212.
#16
why is this expired just used the link and it shows as £212.00 still
#17
Yeah this shouldn't be expired, still in stock at £212
#18
it might go under £200 if there's possible news of a new model coming out, I think this must have happened when this model came out, and the DMC-FZ28 dropped in price suddenly..
#19
I hope this isn't a completely stupid question but...
...
is this superior to a Panasonic TZ7 which i already have? Would i notice a picture quality difference?
#20
Nice price cheapest I've seen it.

Anyone have any 'tips/best settings' for a novice??

Im considering the same as I find the TZ7 a dissapointment with photos indoors, although outdoors its fantastic. The FZ38 will be a better camera, but better enough to make the upgrade worth the financial loss on the TZ7 and worth carrying around a bigger camera, not sure?
#24
Great camera, great price, just buy one!

Anyone who wears glasses for reading will appreciate the electronic view finder as will those who work in bright sunshine!

Use with a class 6 or better card if shooting video.
#25
Yes the TZ7 is second to none outside but inside it's pretty poor i think. Tricky one and can't seem to find anything on the net about a comparison. More research i think!

You need to do some reading up on the TZ7 and how to get around the poor indoor quality - there are ways around it. It would save you losing money and having something far bulkier to carry around.

AVForums is a good start.

1147 on an 8gb on top settings. More on lower settings, but only worth lowering picture quality if you want the increased optical zoom. I always keep the picture quality on maximum and crop and zoom in on any part of a photo I want enlarged. Seems to be better quality that way.
