Nice one

Great camera but it's £269 on Amazon with £30 Panasonic cashback. I'm pretty sure I paid about £279 for mine back in April.

Currys have better warranty service

How does this compare to the SONY H400B Bridge Camera or the SONY DSC-HX300 Bridge Camera?

You have to REALLY want that 1200mm equiv lens to buy this. Presumably for some hobby your into that requires a massive amount of zoom. Birdwatching or sport maybe, but you'll be limited to bright light.

In these days of constant aperture zooms and large sensor compacts spending this much on a F2.8-5.9 1/2.3" sensor camera doesn't appeal at all to me. You can certainly do a LOT better for you money if you don't need the zoom.

It's a year old now and no doubt will be replaced with a 4K recording version before long.

Ehm seriously? Been an awful lot of complaints over the years about Currys/PC World Whatever Happens Warranty Service....if you were really interested in a warranty John Lewis offer a far better warranty service....£30 for 3 years including accidental damage...

For me they've been great. I've had 2/3 laptop repairs after I had broke the charger port on my laptop and a few other repairs. John Lewis have the best warranty. If so you can price match the camera

Don't have to price match as John Lewis already £10 cheaper at £269 ;)

What do you recommend?

What's your budget, what do you want to use it for the most, any other info?

For most peoples photos something like this is capable of far better results, but then it has only a fairly short focal range ("zoom") and no viewfinder.

That does look good thanks, I have a Panasonic tz65 at the moment, about 5 years old or more. Take good photos, just wanted to do more, saw the huge lenses on the bridge cameras and thought that they must be better. The tz60 or 40 also looked good, but the one you posted looks like it will do more (I think). Thanks
