The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 boasts plenty of advanced technology to assist you in your photography. Utilising Contrast Detection AF, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 lets you choose between the versatility of a 23-point AF area or precise 1-point single area focusing. When it comes to composing your photos, you can either make use of the luxury 3" LCD display, or send the image to the high resolution 1,440,000 dot Live View Finder.

The award-winning Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 also sports a built-in dust reduction scheme, which may save you many laborious hours of cloning in Photoshop!

The lens included with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 has an equivalent (35mm) focal length of 28-90mm, which makes it ideal for shooting anything from a sweeping vista to a high quality close-up portrait. This premium quality LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH./MEGA O.I.S. lens also boasts built-in image stabilisation, which helps you to take sharp handheld pictures even in relatively low light.

If you want to move into the world of professional looking photography but retain the usability and portable nature of a compact digital, then the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 Black Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera + 14-45mm Panasonic Zoom Lens is the perfect choice.

Why didnt you post that deal..?

It wasn't a general price, Jessops were clearing out of cosmetically damaged stock or items with missing accessories so there was only one or two of each of them which were quickly snapped up. The Clearance sale was posted on here although for some reason went very cold which I don't really understand.

Against the G10 (closer in price than the G2) this isn't a bad buy as you get the better kit lens (the 14-42mm is cheaper and lower quality), the high quality EVF (the G10 has a basic low resolution type) and the articulating screen(G10 display is fixed). The main loss is the movie mode as the G1 doesn't have any video recording capability, also the G1 can only autofocus the contrast-detect AF optimised 4/3 lenses whereas the G10 can AF with all of them although slowly.

They sold many, mine had light plastics damage on top next to the settings, you could call it a chip about a cm across and i'm not bothered was a late birthday present to myself, perfect little camera for on the go. Good piece of kit.

Spending a little more on the G10 may be worthwhile for some as you can claim a free copy of Photoshop Elements 9 & Premier Elements 9 from Panasonic at the moment.

But the viewfinder (EVF) on the G1 is twice as good as the G10. As someone who still doesn't like using the LCD screen to take photos, the viewfinder is very important to me.

Agreed, I'd say the EVF on the G1 is a lot more than twice as good as the G10 and the articulated screen is another advantage with this system. Another alternative is the GH1 which is now available body only for around £250 or with the excellent 14-140mm lens for £750. Aside from its GH2 replacement, the GH1 offers the best video within micro 4/3 and it's also the only one with a multi-aspect ratio sensor allowing you to shoot in either 16:9, 3:2 or 4:3 without cropping the focal length.

It was actually posted but because only patient people got in on it, HDUK's voted it VERY cold.
I bided my time for a week or so and bingo.
Their loss.
