The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 is the digital camera, which is renowned for packaging a remarkable 10x optical zoom in a compact, stylish body. To further add to its appeal, the DMC-TZ3 goes one step further to feature a 28mm wide-angle Leica DC lens (equivalent to 28-280mm on a 35mm film camera) for wide-angle shooting.
The 28mm wide-angle lens opens up a plethera of photographic opportunities, allowing photographers to easily capture a large group of people, or expansive architectural structures and landscapes with dynamic width and rich perspective. The wide-angle lens is particularly helpful in situations where you cannot step back or move away from a subject - ideal for shooting group portraits in a small room for example.

Well i can weep buckets. paid £250 a couple of months back as the price didn't look like going down any time soon and as soon as I'd got it the price went tumbling.

This is a brilliant deal, if you need to get a new camera buy this today! You won't be dissapointed!

7dayshop are offering this for the same price - from the wording I'm not certain you'd get free delivery (I'd have to create an account to check :? ) - but if so you could get 2% quidco.

I think 7dayshop charge at least £3.95 delivery so the Ebuyer deal is cheaper. I know a couple of people with this camera and have had a chance to play around with it and I love it. Keep telling myself I don't need another camera, but this one keeps whispering "you know you want me, look into my wide-angle lens and tell me you don't want me!" :geek:

if your in the market for a new camera this is the toy..

got one from ebuyer about 2 months ago great bit of kit.

the IA makes a good job of focus etc and the Quicktime movie mode produces good results in the right lighting condition.

comes with usb cable & video playback cable (1 phono 1 video).

the 2 custom setting modes are good if you have specific shots in mind.

would recomend screen protecters as the BIG lcd screen as it sits proud of the casing.

great optical zoom, can get a bit shaky at full zoom but if you need to "GET CLOSER" :)

all in all i have found this camera a pleasure to use it supports sdhc so get a big one i got 4gb and i have plenty of room for pics and vids. :-D

So do I get the £100 fuji S5700, Panny DMC-FZ8 at about £175 or this?
I'll still be trying to make my mind up by Christmas.

Sounds like you need to read some reviews...

How quick does this camera take a photo. I have a old Sony Cybershot and takes what seems an eternity to take the picture. by then my daughter has moved. Same with when flash is on it throws out a orange light and takes ages to take the shot.

Cheers.

The Panny FZ8,although more expensive than the Fuji,is a much nicer camera.

I,too, was torn between the FZ8 and the TZ3.....in the end I went for the FZ8 because it has a viewfinder.Although I am a novice,I know I would miss having a viewfinder,so my compromise was size.In saying that the FZ8 is very light,it will be tested fully on my 4 week trip in 3 weeks time!:-D

If you are looking to get the FZ8,try checking cameras2u.co.uk at the weekend.....I found that they seem to reduce their prices at weekend(??) so you may get it for around £160.I ordered mine on a sunday from them and it increased in price during the week!

Outstanding camera and great value at the price. This camera was £299 in June this year and I bought one in New York for $300 that month, so we're only now catching up the yanks.

If you're in the market for a high quality digital camera you won't go wrong here. Be worth using a part of your saving to buy a reasonably fast SD card too.

Hot to trot!

Thought my £204 a couple of months back was good...excellent deal and cracking camera.
One thing I would add is that we took it on holiday last month and it was very sunny...the lack of viewfinder does make it a bit awkward in certain circumstances...certainly needed the point and shoot facility 'cos that's exactly what we did!!...but the photo quality is fantastic:)

anyone know how this would compare to a sony cybershot T50 ?
THinking of wther it is worth the upgrade, other than the higher optical zoom and wide angle?
#17
It's a bigger camera than the Sony and the lens is much more versatile. I would have got the Panasonic (or another camera that did wide angle to a reasonable telephoto zoom) in the first place, but if I had the Sony already, I would keep that, unless money is no barrier...

Can anyone tell me what it is like for night shot's without a flash? Can you set it to a quick shutter speed to, for instance take good shots of xmas lights?
#19
Yay a decent price from a trusted seller, it's back on my christmas list :D

Not really. There are no manual controls (or aperture and shutter priority) on the TZ3. It will probably be possible using the scene modes though, although low light pictures are not the TZ3's forte.

Thanks, not worth me 'upgrading' as my Olympus gives a good picture, as long as it is daylight or anything close to the flash.

I won this camera lol -awesome camera -- the screen is so vivid if you ahve another digi cam it looks so poor compared to it - picture quality is great and zoom too

Defo recommend

Just got a FZ8 however the following reviews seem to say that the camera doesn't perform well at higher ISO settings;

Fuji- http://www.trustedreviews.com/digita...nePix-S5700/p1
Overall score 9/10

Panasonic - http://www.trustedreviews.com/digita...mix-DMC-FZ8/p1
Overall score 7/10

Can you put my mind at rest? :)
#27
I think you find all cameras perform worse at higher ISO's than at lower ones. It's a compromise to get the faster speed. I'm sure most people would be happy with any of Panasonics latest range though... :santa: (or a Canon - which would be my preference) :p
#28
You can't really compare the two though in all honesty. One is a compact SLR and the other is a compact. The difference being the weight, size, etc and therefore ability to squeeze in extra features.

I have a Sony DSC-H2 which is a great camera with a great zoom but sure as heck won't fit in my pocket on an evening out.
#29
Didn't know there was such a thing as a compact SLR? :p
#30
Might be better to post it in here...

I have three urgent questions:

1. How long is the warranty for the Panasonic TZ3 from eBuyer?
2. How long is the warranty for the Panasonic TZ3 from PC World?
3. In a warranty case, would I have to contact Panasonic or the retailer I bought the product from?

Thanks,

HiFly

I have just got my Cousin who lives in Cincinnati to get me this camera, it cost £235 dollars from Amazon which is about £115 at the current exchange rate. She is coming over to the UK for Christmas so I will have it in a couple of weeks fingers crossed.
There is a good video on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHW6jUM161o
which shows the cameras features including an impressive demo of the image stabilization at around 3 minutes 15 seconds into the video.

I've just got one from 7dayshop and they are hard work customer service wise as in you cant contact them. Better staying with Ebuyer for a better service. The only thing that I dont like about it is that you cant charge the battery in thecamera so you have to keep removing it and in the end the little door will most prob fall off. Class camera though ;)
