The Panasonic LUMIX TZ7 has a 25mm ultra wide-angle Leica DC lens to help you get the whole picture. AVCHD Lite allows you to shoot High Definition movies for longer than other cameras, and get closer to the action during filming with the 12x optical zoom. So whether youre shooting still or moving pictures, up close or far away, you never have to miss another moment however unusual it may be.

Buy the latest Panasonic Lumix TZ7 Compact Digital Camera from Cdiscount.co.uk. The TZ7 is stacked with impressive features indicative of Panasonic:

- Lumix Super Zoom Digital Camera
- 12x Optical Zoom 25mm Ultra Wide-Angle LEICA DC Lens
- HD Movie Recording in AVCHD Lite with Dolby Stereo Digital Creator
- Advanced iA (Intelligent Audio) Mode with Face Recognition and Movie iA Mode
- Large 3", 460.000 High-resolution Intellligent LCD with Wide-viewing Angle

The Panasonic Lumix TZ7 packs a LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens with 12x optical zoom into a compact body. This versatile photographic tool lets you shoot everything from sweeping vistas at the 25mm wide-angle setting to dynamic 300mm telephoto shots. And the lens system's exquisite rendering ability lets you capture even the subtle nuances of the sights and scenes in your travels.

The Panasonic Lumix TZ7 records HD movies (1280 x 720-pixels) in AVCHD Lite, which lets you shoot beautiful HD video with almost twice the recording time compared to the conventional Motion JPEG and the optical zoom can also be used when shooting motion images. It is also the world's first compact camera to feature Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator, which records dynamic, true-to-life audio that brings out the power of the HD video. The wind cut function minimises distracting sound from the background during audio recording.

The iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode makes it easy for anyone to take beautiful recordings. The Photo iA Mode controls MEGA O.I.S., Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Recognition, Intelligent Exposure and AF Tracking with the new Face Recognition function memorising faces automatically and working to optimise both focus and exposure settings by prioritising on the registered persons face. On the other hand, the Movie iA Mode controls MEGA O.I.S., Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection AF/AE, and Intelligent Exposure.

The TZ7's LCD features a large 3.0", 460,000-dot resolution, and a wide-viewing angle that lets you frame your shot in a variety of ways for both shooting and viewing. LUMIX's acclaimed Intelligent LCD function also automatically adjusts the brightness in 11 steps according to shooting conditions. This LCD provides sharp, clear images in virtually all shooting situations, ranging from nighttime to bright daylight scenes and from low-angle to high-angle shooting. It lets you share the fun of viewing images with family and friends.

The Venus Engine HD, with its twin CPUs, has exceptional processing capabilities and low power consumption, enabling both HDMI support and HD movie recording in AVCHD Lite. It features effective noise reduction even at high ISO sensitivity levels.

If people know about digital cameras, you ll know this camera is one of the best in the market at the moment,

I think the price for these were £250 last week.
Good price I think!

Great camera and good price for the red. Don't forget the postage

Panasonic is off my shopping list since they make their cameras non-compatible to third party batteries. You have to buy their over-priced batteries.

There are better alternative cameras which use readily available batteries from Hama and the like.

Please can you suggest the alternatives.

You can apparently change the software upgrade on this to the previous version which WILL allow third party batteries... ...I have the brown one which looks ultra classy...ain't used it much though, I got a letter about possible redundancies the day after I bought it from amazon which still hasn't been resolved...kinda flattens your enthusiasm somewhat... ...looking forward to my next holiday though!

...playing images from the SDHD card on my Panny plasma look absolutely stunning!!

What quality is the 720p video ? Compressed to hell or what, problems with motion ? I have it on my Casio, while its ok, its not going to replace a video camera.

I've had one of these for a few months (paid £40 more than this price), and it's sensationally good.

Photography snobs look away now: the 'idiot mode' on this is the best there is, and the HD video is brilliant if all you ever use a camcorder for is school plays and Christmas.

think you have to add £3.99 for shipping. its £241.20 at amazon with free delivery for the black one if people prefer

Agree that's a real shame (though surely others will follow) but maybe they'll get away with it because the cameras are SO good?

Hot price but if you aren't going to use the HD video (excellent though it is), consider the similar TZ6 for £55 less:

Care to suggest these alternatives? The TZ7 is widely regarded as the best 'point and click' in that price range (if not the best overall). Hardly worth ditching it because it doesn't take third party batteries.

For those who asked, the HD video is very good, as is the zoom. Only downside is there's a 15min limit on the video length. The software on the phone is also very good and fast - my sister bought a new Samsung (albeit a cheaper model) and it takes forever to scroll through the images.

As someone else mentioned, the 'idiot mode' is brilliant.

I believe if you download and install the previous version of the firmware, it removes the block on third-party batteries.

This is a fantastic price, especially for the red version which gets marked up at a lot of places.

I have a TZ7 (in black) which I bought for £250 a month ago - and wholeheartedly agree it's a fantastic camera.

If you never ever ever record video, then sure get the TZ6, but in my opinion, even if you may only occasionally take video the HD recording is sensational on a large flat screen TV, so it's well worth the extra £50 or so. Once you see it in action, you may just be tempted to start recording more video! Just get an 8GB or larger memory card!

I'm looking to get one of these anyday now.
While I don't think much of being forced to use Panasonics own batteries, I'm certainly not going to reject buying this, it's a top rated camera and will do just fine for me:thumbsup:

What colour is the best to buy?

I presume you're going to need a case, mem card and battery also!
