A great camera for the price it comes in either Silver, Violet, Blue or Red.

# LUMIX Compact Digital Camera
# Futuristic, Flat Design with Folded Optics Technology
# 4x Optical Zoom LUMIX DC Lens and Up to 8.4x Extra Optical Zoom
# iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode with Advanced Scene Detection
# 3.0-inch 230,000-dot Intelligent LCD with Touch-screen Operation
# Seamless Operation with Quick Start-up Time and Sonic Speed AF
# HD Movie Recording (1,280 x 720 pixels at 30 fps in Motion JPEG Format)

The DMC-FP3 features a 4x optical zoom LUMIX DC VARIO lens (35mm camera equivalent: 35-140mm). The folded optics technology makes it possible to fit the high performance lens in futuristic, flat body. The lens cover can be opened and closed with the touch of a finger, and also serves as a power switch. The Extra Optical Zoom function uses the center part of the CCD to extend this 4x zoom ratio to powerful 8.4x zoom at a resolution of 3-megapixel or less.

Limited zoom. Panasonic do good cameras though. I have the FZ28 - Brilliant camera.

Limited zoom ?

What you on about 4x is fine for a tiny camera and more than the standard 3x.

Big zoom = big camera

Heat added

Its 4x optical zoom and optical zoom is pointless! It's the same as cropping a picture on your computer!

No digital zoom whatsoever! But thats to be expected on a flat camera! It'd prefer the Canon Ixus that was on here yesterday!

Optical zoom is pointless !

And there is no digital zoom !

Thank you Mr Camera expert LOL !!!!

There was almost another loughboroughguy moment there lol

and optical image stabalisation - nice

but reviews seem very mixed - some reporting unremarkable image quality and sluggush touchscreen interface.

maybe why it is reduced already?

Not the best Panny camera but they don't make a bad one in my view. Well worth a look if the compact size (or colour choice!) is important to you. Have a look at the other Pannys while you're there.

Why do you need a touchscreen camera!? Its the next big thing, but its a battery hog, and tactile buttons are easier to use... Not to mention its just expense that would be better spent on a better lens/zoom/whatever...?

I have used the fp2 and its a really good camera

Slim and easily fits into your pocket and the pics are off a good quality certainly so for the price

Only criticism is dont order a red one without looking at the colour in a shop i was disappointed as it is more pink than red
