I recently got one of these in Blue as a gift. In Costco they are £115 inc. a Panasonic case.

Just bought it off Amazon for £120 the other week! Exactly 10% off!

Lumix cameras are always good.
Don't like the 2.7 lcd though.
I'd probably wait for a few months (6 maybe at most) to get the TZ10 for about this price !

Got the FS15 IIRC a few months ago.
Very please with it and would definatly recommend.

Not sure what the differences are with the FS30 are though.

Ordered this myself earlier. Can't find a bad review, seems like a good snapper.

bought this for £122 two weeks ago :(

So apart from the smaller screen, lack of touch panel operation, and slightly different button layout at the back, the Panasonic FS33 and FS30 are one camera and the same, with a modest price difference. For a manufacturer's suggested £179.99 and with street costings undoubtedly better still, we'd argue it is hard to go wrong if choosing the FS30/FH20 as your travel companion this summer.

Reliably consistent images are delivered with minimal fuss. The advantages of having a higher 14 megapixel resolution won't be lost on the mass market, and the 8x zoom reach is perhaps even more useful as regards offering a greater variety of creative framing options than you'd normally expect from sub £200 snapper. Shame perhaps that although it offers HD movies it doesn't feature any HDMI output for hooking directly up to your flat panel TV, and also that the zoom stays fixed in place in video mode once recording has commenced, but then if there weren't these omissions we'd have very little to grumble about.

So while photo enthusiasts will inevitably want to cast their steely gaze elsewhere, for £179 the DMC-FS30 feels good value indeed and will more than satisfy those users looking for a portable pocket camera for their travels - and who are content to simply point and shoot in the main.

i always think the big selling point of the lumix range was the Leica lens - this one has a lumix lens.. which i doubt would be as good.
Im sure you can get a decent lumix for a little bit more, maybe one in the FX series that has that Leica goodness

Damn! I paid £125 on 6th December.....I've asked for avrefund of the difference, or it's going back!

I don't care that it is a Christmas present - my daughter can wait until I can either get sorted with a refund or a separate order....

Bought an fs33 a while back for 145 quid from camera box.... they r supposed to be the cheapest and they offer a free 5 year warranty on top of standard manufacture warranty but this is the cheapest ive seen it. Good find buddy

Seriously tempted, thanks OP! :)

Anyone know how this compares to the Fuji F80 EXR?

I was going to buy from Argos last week but held back, so so tempted.. heated

The FS7 and FS8 models have the leica lens but fewer features than this model. The leica lens will provide more sharpness and less barrel distortion at wide angles, but at this price point it's probably better to have the longer optical zoom. If you can afford a bit more then I would definitely recommend the TZ7/TZ8/TZ10 models

On foot. Appears to have been posted in Scotland so I guess it got held up in the weather. Paid extra for first class too!

Good luck but don't hold your breath.

Looks like a cracking deal, I'll be recommending this to my Dad later today as he's after a camera for day-to-day use. Nice find, thanks for sharing.

£106.92 now. Although I swear I saw it at £104 odd this morning!

Been looking at a new camera for a couple of weeks now. Had got it down to this or the Ixus 130 (for its size more than anything) although with 8x optical zoom, the excellent reviews, and £20 cheaper, it seems mad to not go for the Lumix?
