what one is the best tz7 or tz10. i have heard people saying that the tz7 is still the best one to go for.

its available at the same price, so im looking for a bit of help, before buying one or the other
#2
I was in two minds about this - just went for the tz10 because of the gps. i dont know much about these but there are others who are a lot more knowledgeable.

if you do order dont forget to order a free bag too - its somewhere in the description.

good luck

Comes with a free case too :)

I would go for the TZ10. It comes with the addition of GPS, which is a good addition and the specs are better all round generally. People have said that the GPS drains the battery faster, but you do have the option to turn it off if not required.

I bought this earlier today too :)

good taste Manimal :)

battery drain with gps was my major concern but like you said, you don't have to have it on all the time.

Sound is poor on the TZ10, NOT the same as the TZ7. But still a hot price if you're not too fussed and only plan on taking photos!

I'm sure I paid £350 for the TZ10 a week or so before it supposed to be released. What a swine. Great camera though, even at the original price.

There are some important differences between the TZ7 and TZ10. Besides the GPS, the TZ10 has manual exposure controls.. The TZ7 has a lower megapixel count (10M vs TZ10 = 12M), which will probably give better results in low light photography. However, if you always shoot on auto, none of this will make much difference
#10
I got mine for ~$300 in the summer. Good price. :)

Thanks for the direct link dave

I tried editing the link but can't for some reason. Hopefully a mod/admin person might be kind enough to correct this. thanks.

bought one at costco £99.97 plus vat with gps
#13
When did you get it at Costco ?
#14
This is a very good camera but i got the casio exilim EX-H10 for £128 from play.com a couple of weeks ago it was on here! It has 10x zoom best shot feature hd video etc etc etc on the amazon reviews which i also looked at before i bought i saw a camera shop owner talking about panasonic and casio cameras and he said he always carries my model about !! The night shots are fantastic it turns a pitch black room into daylight its true you have so many settings for each different shot ie location people animals buildings etc etc ! See reviews also on reevo its an amazing camera as good as the panasonic but cheaper! And yes casio invented the lcd screen so says a review i didnt think casio made good cameras and was looking at nikon and panasonic but anyway im very pleased with it !

Probably not, because if the TZ7 is like the TZ6 (which I own) then I think the slowest shutter speed on 'manual' is one second which isn't great for night time photography. Using the Night Scene mode will give fairly decent results, but this setting always bumps the iso up to 800.

If you can manually select slow shutter speeds AND iso's on the TZ10 then I reckon the results should be better. Can anyone confirm this?

SirHugo.

Great price on the TZ10 though - very tempting.

I dont know the TZ6, but on the TZ7 you cannot set shutter speed and aperture independently, so you are right, night photography is difficult, especially if the camera cranks the iso to 800.

yep free case ordered too also on the trial for amazon prime so will receive camera tomorrow!!

Great price for this camera. I bought one of these from comet a few months back with cash back at a slightly higher price - i think its a great camera. Image quality obviously not as good as the DSLR, but its great for short weekend trips away.
#25
Ordered one yesterday too!

Whats the video like on this, is it better than the TZ7, does it have stereo sound as well?

Thanks

Here is the full spec - it does have stereo sound. Not sure how it compares to the tz7.

You could return it free of charge.

I placed my order with Amazon on the 26th for the TZ10 shipped on the 27th hopefully with an invoice date of the 27th. Otherwise it goes back and I reorder £30. is £30.

The gps flattens the battery very quickly so you end up turning it off, I think theres a TZ9 (currys/dixons exclusive) without it...

it was at http://www.simplyelectronics.net/mainproduct.php?pid=10100&setcurrency=eur they show UK phone number but prices in euros. on going to checkout through google checkout it comes out at £205.17

I haven't ordered with them.

Oddly if you change the url above to have GBP as currency i.e.

rather than
http://www.simplyelectronics.net/mainproduct.php?pid=10100&setcurrency=eur

it comes out at £222 I think it was. There is no £30 cashback with them I rang and tried.

Likewise http://www.camerabox.co.uk/product.asp?ProductID=11913&gclid=CPW7nKPM9aQCFWL92AodkhdHjQ for £209.99 have no cashback

just a tip to anyone who has bought the case with the camera. Amazon deduct the price of the case from the price of the camera so they charge you £212 for the camera and the pouch as £6.28 , so just cancelled the pouch as it has not been delivered yet making the deal even hotter!!!. My camera has arrived today well pleased!!
