If you want a Panny case to go with it try Jacob's who are doing the 'package' for £199.99.

The case is a proper belt leather one worth £20 so quite a good deal.

£199.99 with free leather Panny case at Jacobs (plus quidco)

TZ20 due out in next few days so this might come under some more price pressure although cheapest TZ20 likely to be around £300 at release. although HX9 and 550EXR will hopefully give us an interesting price battle.

Your probably the only person on the planet that has a bad word to say about this camera. Amazing piece of kit for the money, has been cheaper than this recently though.

Its low light performance is poor though but thats more to do with tiny sensors and long lenses. None of this class of camera are good as a result.

Don't feed him. He had made same ridiculous comment about his wifes canon on other threads too.

grt camera, with max aperture of f3.3 and small sensor, shooting at low light may not be everyone's cup of tea but with such wide angle and insane zoom, it more than makes up to it.
the only rival tht comes close is the samsung and it;s cheaper, BUT tht's a samsung.

also u need only class 4 micro-sd, sd or sdhc card if shoot all HD videos in AVCHD format, minimum of class 6 if shoot in MPEG.

hope this helps.

He's not. My wife has one of these and while the video and outdoor shots are fine it has a pathetic flash and compensates for it by boosting the ISO. Anything over ISO 200 is awful to be honest and 400 is the lowest limit you can impose. Her old Canon Ixus from 2005 was much better for indoor photos.

your canon probably had a shorter zoom and larger aperture so didn't have to push the ISO as much. This is was it is - a very good and versatile 'travel' zoom that is likely to be used most of the time outdoors. Its a shame you can't have everything but that's the way it is.

My local tesco had this for £189 too. It also had the TZ7 for £125..... was seriously tempted...

TZ7 for £125 is a seriously good price for what is still a very good camera.

I have the TZ10 and like it a lot, but didn't think that the prices would come down much in March even with the new TZ18's and TZ20's (somewhere around the £350 mark).

Any criticism of low light performance really ought not to warrant a mention as none of similarly specced compact cameras do any better (see Which magazine - this is why the TZ10 is a 'Best Buy').

Good and fair comment, inho. I have the TZ7 and love it! Outdoors and video are great but poor low light shots. I'm happy with it and would buy again.

if i were to mention the only flaw in this camera, it's the streaking when there is a bright spot in the frame.
look up utube, there are lots of example.
and yes, I bought one for the Mrs.

Yes I'd agree with that, but with careful positioning you can 'usually' get a reasonably decent pic... but is a little annoying but the zoom and hd record compensate for me.
