Cheapest deal for this camera at a UK based retailer - possibly the most sought after compact on the market. Prices at some other retailers are slightly less, but these retailers (Simply Electronic etc) are know for supplying grey imports.

However, this price at Dabs is already close to their prices, but taking into account a possible £11.45 cashback at Quidco, this is even cheaper. Amazon are next cheapest UK seller at £235.10 - no Quidco.

Available in Brown or Silver only.

I'd rather pay £10 more from amazon and have a customer service (Dabs.com/BTShop.com have NONE)

I've heard of people having issues with Amazon's CS as well. Given this is the cheapest price, I don't think it means this is cold.

Point me to a cheaper deal from UK retailer people - come on!

Simply electronics was mentioned in the post.

I'm holding out for a really good deal on the TZ6 - as not fussed about the HD video capability of the TZ7. Cheapest I can find it so far is Amazon - anyone know of any better with Quidco or anything?

I've got a feeling this will go sub £200 after Xmas, and that's my magic buy price!

Both grey import stores as mentioned in my OP...

Their stock is imported from HK and sent from a UK warehouse.

I've bought from Camerabox before and received UK goods (Nikon zoom lens) so how do you know this is a grey import?

Just another thought: Remember Panny's propriator battery issue (no third party batt) which adds to the purchase price because you need at least two batteries (one lasts only for about 200 pics without much review). If you are prepared to spend so much money, I find it odd that you are looking to save a few pounds and even wait "until the price may come down". Why not just go and get it now for an average price? :)

It is an assumption based on information found on AV Forums and other review sites about their stock - they supply a lot of grey imports - thanks for your info however, and your negative vote.

BTW - Camerbox is £1 cheaper with no Quidco...

Sadly wrong, although the first week or so after the new year the price may go a little down, prices are set to rise as 1). VAT goes back up and 2). Currency exchange (as most goods are purchased in Dollars).

Just got a ZX1 from Simply Electronics and was pleasantly suprised how quickly it arrived - no communication from them to say it had been dispatched. Does it matter being an grey import then? How does one tell? English is the first language on all the packaging, there is a label with CE and UK Model on the box. The CDs with the software look as if they are from Panasonic. The camera works fine so I am happy at the prices they offer.

Bsacially it sounds like you got a proper UK model - greys can cause problems with warranty etc - which is only a concern if things go wrong.

There's actually a '£5 off the TZ7 at simplyelectronics' voucher available on vouchercodes (I think it was - just google it) making the price only £211.95 there - surely the cheapest its ever been and the closest you're gonna get to £200 in the near future. IF you're happy to buy from them :)
