If your wondering, it seems that while the Apex 10AW will fit a TZ65, it may not fit a TZ7, good luck to those trying.

Yes it gets very good reviews and is often rated better than the newer TZ10. Now if they would just reduce the red one.

Good price, but the four Pannys I already own are enough for me.

Yeah, I agree. I bought a red US version
for no extra cost. It seems in the UK they
treat red ones as "Specials" and charge a
lot more. I have even seen them advertised
as "Special Editions" just to grab extra cash.
Don't wait for ever though 'cos you are missing
out on a great camera.

got a blue one in japan in April on clearance worked out as 106 quid with a 5 year warranty :)

Bought this for £197, great camera although you need to get the settings right. Took us a few weeks to get them down but now the pics are amazing!

Also has the major advamntage of being able to store two preset scene modes with settings, on top of the Intelligent Auto, Auto and adjustabel Scene mode. Very handy indeed.

Great price - great camera = heat.
#8
great price for a great camera. The HD camera is seriously good!!
#9
Don't forget to claim your free camera case with it too!!

It's a Lowepro Apex 10AW Digital Camera Pouch - but it's free! :)

Might be worth updating in the title too ?

Must resist. Been holding out for a Sony HX5V, but this is SOOO cheap now. Must resist.... Aaagghhhh!!!!:viking:

I bought one earlier in the year; great camera but get a HARD case and take care with the screen; it seems to be prone to cracking (which it has done for me - however £30 on ebay sorts out a new screen fitted in 10 mins)
#12
C'mon.. I better not spend another £190 this month. Thanks to OP.
#13
Great price. Heat added. I'm really happy with the TZ65 (no HD recording) from Currys at £140 - posted on HUKD earlier this year.
#14
I paid much more for this camera last year and i would heavily reccomend it !

Only thing to be aware the firmware limits the HD recording to 15 mins. I am pretty technical. When i bought the camera i asked the shop assistant if the 15 minute recording was limited by the SD card size. he said yes but it turns out this is a limit imposed by the firmware. There are numerous threads detailing this online, it has been suggested this was to avoid the EU tax bump as it would otherwise be classified as a camcorder.

Thanks EU !!

Apparently the US version does not have this limit, I have been looking for a firmware crack to get round this.

Great Camera otherwise ! The HD recording is crystal clear and looks amazing even on the cameras display.

Do we think this will go down much more in the next month?
Going to buy this or TZ8/10 for Miami. Any ideas?

Thanks for pointing this out. I had not noticed it before, looks like quite a nice little bag, hope it actually fits a TZ7 as it's not one of the listed models.
#18
Sorry but where does it mention the 'Lowepro Apex 10AW Digital Camera Pouch' ? I bought this from amazon last week but never noticed the free case..
#19
Can't see anything on the page about a free pouch - how do you get it?
#20
Amazing camera, bought it at £200 and worth every penny. Video quality is superb at 720p.

H&R.

The offer is listed under the price and delivery options at the top of the page. However it seems that sometimes that offer is replaced by the "spend £10 and get £2 mp3 downloads". So if you can see the mp3 offer try reloading page or searching for the product again. I think this is why I did not see it first time around either.

I don't think the 10AW case fits this particular camera. I have the 20AW case & its a tight enough fit.

Yeah I'm doubtful that the tz7 would fit in it, seems strange that they include it in the offer if it doesn't though.

On a separate issue - when I view the TZ7 in the Amazon app on my iPhone it says in the product details that it also comes with a Panasonic leather case and 4 gb SD card, however in the standard web page it says absolutely nothing about those two items - strange!

This camera doesn't fit in the case. Check this review of the case out on Amazon:

" Not big enough for my camera, 9 May 2010

Bought a Panasonic lumix dmc-tz7, suspected this would fit it, but it didnt... super cheap and nice quality item it is though - but I doubt it was ever £22.. "

I've been trying to decide what camer to buy for several weeks now and had been keen to get either the Panasonic TZ10 or the Samsung WB650, but the drop in price of teh TZ7 is very tempting! I just don't want to regret not getting the TZ-10 for the extra manual controls and gps etc though.... so i'm stll not sure.

Very tempted with this one. Thanks for posting...

****** bought this for £195 a week or so ago!

Having trouble with the settings though as a lot of the pictures we have takes seem a lot darker when compared to our older (and inferior) camera.

Cany anyone recommend decent settings to use for day/night shots?
#32
I bought this camera for over £300 when it first came out - it's still worth every penny.

One question, can anyone recommend any software (happy to pay) that converts the HD videos the camera takes to AVI or MPEG??
#33
Great price for a great series of cameras.

I've a TZ2 that I got a few years ago and it's been faultless, can't recommend TZ cameras high enough!
#34
Thanks OP - been lusting after this camera on Amazon for months now. This latest price reduction has finally persuaded me to buy.

Thanks for that I've been looking for a red one for my mum in-law.

Did you ever get a crack that gets around the firmware?

i've heard its somehow "hardwired" into the camera - but I could be wrong, and if someone with techincal expertise can get the ZS3 firmware into this I would be overjoyed!

Mind you i've never needed to record over 15 minutes, as my hands start to get cramp. Its good if you use a tripod though!

Two things I "HATE" about this camera is the placement of the record button (not easy for one handed use), and the mode dial, its position where the shutter button should ideally be, and the blank space, making it always slip out of position.

Otherwise its a loveley camera - as the OP says, you need to learn the settings to get good pics out of it - im still learning! :-)

p.s I paid £214 inc so £188 is a GOOD price!

How does it compare to say for example this here:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0031MA18K/ref=nosim/?tag=hotukdeals-21

I am looking for a new camera to take some nice night-time pictures for my trip to Hong Kong :)

This is what I have currently:
http://www.letsgodigital.org/en/camera/specification/1883/show.html

Would the FS10 be an upgrade or a sidestep?
#39
Been after one for a while too, thanks for the heads up :)
#40
Top notch camera with superb performance. Would strongly recommend at this price
