That post is a month old now so worth a reminder incase people missed it last time?

Not sure on the details around re-posts. Some I presume would get protective about their "heat" - nice camera .... I remain so tempted, that's why it caught my eye!

Good call

its a great camera

Just bought one - great delivery time, said it would be from 7 to 9 Sep, already here. Amazon are very good and a much safer bet than most camera shops.Camera itself is brilliant.

IMHO best camera for the money - I also missed earlier post so this was handy
#10
excellent camera - had for a year now
#11
bought it at a higher price, no complaints
#12
It has a surprising number of 1 star reviews on amazon actually. Over 12% of reviews give it 3 stars or less which is a bit alarming.

Mods repost deals on a regular basis, 1 month is fine in my books.

Worth noting that the optical zoom doesn't function for the hd video recording. It's only digital. Which is why I went for it's equivalent competitor Sony.

Not sure where you looked. On amazon.co.uk the reviews are 4.5 out of 5.

Yes the majority of the reviews on Amazon are 5 stars (a pretty impressive 66%), but he's just pointing out that there are quite a few reviews of 3 or less too, if you click on the text links to the left of the review bar graphic, you'll see quite a few people complaining of the fragile LCD screen, poor battery life etc. Just something to be aware of, though you always seem to get a certain amount of people who aren't happy with a product, despite it getting rave reviews everywhere else (as this camera does).

Suppose it's for people who missed it first couple of times it was posted
Bought the Sony W290 from Jessops for £95 anyways...this is a better camera, though.

That is not the case with my Tz7 - I can record in HD and zoom optically from x1 to x12

What is worth noting - when zooming in and out with HD recordings, the zoom is slow and steady but camera can take a second or two to focus under some conditions. So careful zooming is required.

I don't think it'll go much cheaper as it's a discontinued model and only Amazon and few other places still have stock (and lots are refurbs on Ebay) so it might be out of stock soon given that other shops haven't had stock for months now.

An excellent camera well worth the price in my opionion.
#23
I bought this camera a while back when it was around £220 I think, it's a very good bit of kit.

I found the battery to be well more than enough, not sure why people complained it did not last long enough.
The LCD screen is fine if you treat it with the respect it deserves you will have no problem, however if you throw it around or put it in your trouser pocket then yes it will probably break.
HD movie mode is excellent, it's only limited to 15 minutes at a time or the size of your SDHC card, however most movies I have shot I usually do short clips and then later edit it on my PC.

Voted Hot.

i was going to buy the tz10 but the cashback offer has expired. Might go for this one but it does not have gps tagging :(. Does anyone know how often the cashback offers are offered? might hold out if its only a few weeks.

I agree, can't see this going much lower. A great camera for the money, had mine for a year and love it. HD video footage is superb.

I bought this for AVCHD format only, great compression and can play directly in BluRay, I really hate *.mov, *avi, *mp4 etc format. AVCHD rules... not many cameras can record in this format
#27
Already posted. Surely this was spotted when the item was listed.

This deal is not expired. Its still valid !
Go for it. Its the best compact your money can buy :) Only problem is that low-light photos are not that good.
#29
I bought it at £188 and loving it!
OK repost but good deal worth reminding of.
PS still in stock so UNEXPIRE!

i have the older tz6
a great little cam

Thanks mods for un-expireing, not sure what happened,

Good price but it's been that price for a while now. Personally i'd recommend spending just a little more and go for the TZ10.

I'm not sure the TZ10 adds very much for the extra £50 you'd need to spend. The extra megapixels are pointless, GPS sounds cool, but its gonna kill the battery.

Get a spare battery from 7dayshop for under £10 - works with the firmware installed :)

I thought the non-panasonic batteries didnt work with the TZ7? They certainly didnt when I bought mine last year, so bought a second original battery for about £35,

I don't think they used to but I bought one from a recommendation on here and use it with TZ7 which I bought in June/July.

I bought a TZ10 not so long ago and bought an additional battery from 7dayshop. Works fine so should be ok on the TZ7 although I think it does depend on what version of firmware is installed on the camera from what I've read...

I am looking at maybe getting the TZ8 it £198. Seems better value as it is a new model, and has 12xzoom. Does'nt have AVCHD, but motion jpeg footage on youtube looks brill

The tz8 is prob worth the extra £20, all depends what you want from a camera

its coming up at over 200 quid for me!!!
