Damn, just bought the black version from Comet using the discount you could claim by registering your email address. Was £197.76 delivered, but I was hoping to get a red TZ7 which they don't sell. Very good price for an excellent camera.
#2
Nice price hopefully other retailers will follow this example.
#3
Great price! well spotted.
#4
12.32 delivery!!!

cold...

its cheaper elsewhere, naming just one retailer www.camerabox.co.uk
#5
Argh I just wrote the delivery charge - you beat me to it! I would say though that this is the cheapest RED version that I can find - depends if you want to pay that little extra for the colour I guess?
#6
Is the comet deal still about?
#7
cheapest around seems to be here: http://electronics.simplyelectronics.net/search?w=Panasonic+DMC-TZ7+&asug=¤cy=gbp&gclid=COGOyofLvJ4CFU0B4wod1AkElg at £214.99 plus you can use a offer code of 'HOT5OFF' and get £5 off, plus you get a free all-in-one card reader - bringing the cost down to £209.95 delivered.

Problem is, i am unsure of this retailer - anyone got any experience of shopping with these?
#8
any info about the comet deal would be very much appreciated

gotta be honest i am wondering if the comet deal is a mistake for the dmc-zx1eb-k here: http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/578479/PANASONIC-DMC-ZX1EB-K

same price that was mentioned and it does look a similar camera just nowhere near as good. this makes sense cuz if u the tz7 for £199.99 i'd be mega pleased and wouldnt be disappointed about missing out on this deal in the thread. the t7z is still showing £247.20 on comet so i cant see a discount knocking almost £50 off.
#11
checked reviews for simply electronics and they do have some unhappy customers- ie taking payment immediately and taking ages, if ever to deliver. i believe they are based in hong kong. having been caught out with cdiscount i will give them a miss.

The ZX1 is a lighter, thinner version of the TZ7 with improved OIS. Granted, not quite the same spec otherwise: 8x zoom compared with 12x on the TZ7. For me the TZ7 (while very desirable) is just that little bit too fat to fit comfortably into a shirt pocket.

Hot price nonetheless.

The ZX1 doesn't seem to have the AVCHD video support either

just noticed amazon, pixmania and dixons etc. have upped their prices £20-30 this weekend. dont get caught.
#15
the whole colour range seem to be available at bitesize deals for £215 including delivery: http://www.bitesizedeals.co.uk/index.php?act=viewSearch&searchId=a440d780938141310964582ecd9eb715&gclid=CPfXsOrWvZ4CFaBb4wod2ElLmw

anyone ever heard or dealt with this company before? also a thing to consider is warranty, i know camerabox are giving 2 years so maybe worth coughing up that little extra.

£249.99 from camerabox and probably a grey import..
#17
I notice in bitesize deals that the price has just jumped up to £225 again!
#18
I cant seem to find the tz7 on the crampton&moore website either......
#19

£214.99 from camerabox actually for black, silver, brown i believe, just the red at the more expensive price which personally i couldnt warrant the extra cost - then theres the 2 year warranty with camerabox too.

I had the TZ6 from Costco. Great camera except that the flash is seriously under-powered making indoor pictures too dark. TZ7 seems to have similar flash problems and is a well reported issue in numerous reviews.

In the end took it back, good old Costco.

the next camera i'd put by the side as a possible replacement for the tz7 would be the samsung wb550 but, i've read this has flash issues too with silly placement, meaning the fingers often obstruct it.

Really wanna get this camera before new year. So reading with interest for best available deals.

I bought this from Camerabox in the summer - they delivered as I live 2 miles away and promised to waive costs - never heard from them again! Be warned
#25
Hi Guys,
I bought mine from Dixons for £228, nearly all these "cheap" prices are for Grey Imports and have no warranty with Panasonic, like Pixmania et all they are given 2 or sometimes 3 years warranty with themselves not Panasonic.
I spoke to Panasonic before I purchased and they explained the camera must have a CE mark for the european warranty to be present.
Simply Electronicsand crazy cameras are not based in the UK.
This company Bitesize states this;
year from the date of original purchase, defective parts or a defective Digital Camera returned to Bitesizedeals, and proven to be defective upon inspection, will be repaired with new or comparable rebuilt parts or exchanged for a refurbished Digital Camera of the same type, as determined by Bitesizedeals.
which is not a warranty with Panasonic either.
Buyer Beware.
#26
Shame on you Panasonic for not honoring warranty. Blimey, anyone would think it's a different product made in a different factory, by some other company, to inferior standars.

IT IS THE SAME CAMERA PANASONIC!

It really annoys me when companies start fannying about because I bought something on my holidays going out of the country (duty free) etc. and the warranty only applies if the wind is blowing in a certain direction blah de blah...

Remember to buy this on a credit card from one of these guys, just in case some of these retailers aren't around for ever, at least you have some come back.

As for Panny (A company who's products I usually rate) - Shame on you, you've gone down in my estimation.

At last - a common sense post in this thread...

At last - a common sense post in this thread...

common sense?! how exactly is this common sense? i am afraid some people (including myself) are unaware of such policies until the kind poster has just enlightened me. i knew nothing about CE marks and the loss of Panasonic warranty.

I am not a stranger to buying online and I'm not a dumb person either but ok I've been looking at companies selling these cameras and the valuable post has pointed out some very good and valid points with regard to the these possible stores.

I'd just like to say it is easy to assume when someone offers you a warranty, to take it at face value and expect it to be genuine as you'd normally find with stores such as the high street. if you knew otherwise and been waiting in the wings for a 'common sense' post, why didnt you post earlier with a decent bit instead of jumping on the back of someone elses great informative post?

I'm glad I could be of some help. I rang Simply Eelctronics and the lady lied to me on the phone concerning the panasonic stating that it has a Panasonic warranty and they are based in London.
Both these statements are false.
I think if you pay around the £230 mark you have got a good deal and a Panasonic guarantee.
As a side note if these companies are selling the ZS3 as the TZ7 (they are the same camera) but it is a grey import and has no warranty in europe.

thats great m8 thanks.

anyone know any info on camerabox? i've had a lens from them in the past which was delivered speedy with no issues - they state they are uk company but now i'm not so sure? another store is 'digital-cameras.com' looks exactly the same as camerabox to be honest. and then finally another store is 'sundigital.co.uk' - anyone ever had dealings with these or got any extra info on them? details would be much appreciated :)

superb m8 great info thanks, i never thought to do a whois search on them so i'll bare that in mind in future.
