rang a comet store and was told that they don't participate in this offer, there offer is the £80 trade in.
However I appreciate all the other posters comments above but for me I can't be bothered with the gamble cause this deal is only good for me with the trade in, quidco and the 5year warranty. :-(
Spoilt aren't I?

I nearly bought one of these last time round. Decided against it as they are not known for washing machines. Turns out they have been making ashing machines for years, just not front loading machines. I think i'd rather pay a little more and get a more well known brand.

I wouldn't buy anything from Comet ever again.

I'd gathered they'd been making a tilted drum washing machine for a few years, just not selling it in europe - eg see http://renotalk.20.forumer.com/a/panasonic-tilted-drum-washing-machinedryer_post45870.html and are one of the dominant washing machine brands in japan.

Just information i got from uk whitegoods forum. It's a forum of white goods engineers who surprisingly help you to get it fixed by yourself. They also offer advice on machines to go for. They make twin tubs for japan i think.

I've phoned up Comet twice and been instore and they each confirm they are still running the promotion. They will either send the leaflet by post or you can collect one from store. I am wondering though if i got a leaflet from John Lewis (which is closer to me and are also running the 5 year guarantee promotion) will it be the same as the one from comet or are there different leaflets for each company? (if that makes sense!). Thanks for the deal OP! H+R

got my yesterday, after ordering in Jan. looks fine, very heavy. pump makes some funny noises though lol but besides that looks solid to me.

regarding the 5 year warranty, I rang the Panasonic line and emailed them in Jan, they emailed me back confirming that i just need my comet invoice and can print out the warranty from their website to get the 5 year warranty. I got a email stating this from Panasonic!, so this offer is still on until end of March.

Don't bother with Comet, they are trying to flog their inhouse 5 warranty to you, I visited my local store yesterday to see if i could find a hard copy warranty form and the sales person was saying that they don't do the offer no more and its expired in Jan lol. Hiowever the Comet sales line reckon they pulled the offer on the 20th Jan with Panansonic, so not sure whats going on?

Is the washing machine any good?

I am after a machine (8kg) and right now this is the best one I can find from Siemens/Bosch who are a very good make, and it includes a full 5 year labour and parts guarantee.
#20
I contacted Panasonic today and was told that Comet are no longer in the scheme. According to them it is only Panasonic dealers and John Lewis who are still participating. I managed to pick up this machine for £429.99 inc delivery and collection of old machine from www.shopatpanasonic-exeter.co.uk/ - I believe they only cover the south west
#21
I have the other panasonic washing machine on order, due to be delivered on wed. I also contacted panasonic today to be told that they will not honour the 5 year warranty- i'm not sure what to do. I am going to phone them again tomorrow, if they don't honour it i may cancel.
banned#22
Yep, i'm going to cancel i've just received this email from Panasonic:

"Thank you for your email regarding the Panasonic Washing Machine warranty.
In response the standard warranty is for 2 years, however we are running a promotion where there is an offer to redeem a 5 year warranty with Panasonic. This covers parts, labour and call-out for washing machines. The warranty is exclusively for repairs required which arise as a result of a manufacturing fault; there is no cover for physical damage, albeit accidental.

To clarify, this is a specific promotion being run via independent retailers. The criteria of this promotion are that a qualifying product must be purchased during the specified time scale, and from those retailers taking part in the scheme. Whilst Comet initially were included in the promotion, from January onwards they opted to offer a trade-in discount instead and therefore a purchase from Comet would not qualify for the extended guarantee.

Can you please confirm the date that the washing machine was purchased? "

So Comet are not included since January. I think Comet need to get their act together because instore they are still advertising free 5 year guarantee and i mentioned to them the code for the panasonic trade in and they said i could use that instore???

Clothes come out clean and pretty dry. Quiet, looks good for a washin machine, slight niggle the leds to show which programme is selected could be a bit brighter/bigger if machine is in bright room/sunny day,ok if you bend down to have a look..
#29
Thanks, sounds good for the money.

Got mine today, very happy with it, very quiet, spin is a bit more noisy.

Load at 40c cotton setting only takes 56 minutes. It also turns off automatically after a wash which is nice.
