ABSOLUTE BARGAIN
*************************************

Panasonic are trying to enter into the washing machine market with some top spec machines and with a massive SIX year parts & labour warranty (5 year warranties normally cost at least £125 ... more typically £200)

The price on this model has dropped nearly £200 in the last couple of months.

Here's the blurb:

Rated an outstanding A+++ for energy, the NA-168VX2WG is a 1600rpm spin washing machine with a 8kg load and is Energy Saving Trust approved. In a white finish with a silver porthole, thanks to a clever tilting drum it’s measly with water, using only 50 litres on a full cotton cycle.

Clever Inverter technology not only provides the optimal cleaning performance, but ensures the most efficient energy consumption. The 3D sensor wash constantly detects the movement of your laundry in the machine and makes adjustments to enable it to tumble from the optimal position for great wash results.

A variety of short programmes and special quick programs are included to save you time - the ‘Rapid 15’ programme is ideal for refreshing 2kg of laundry in just 15 minutes. Or why not take advantage of the ‘Quick 60’ programme, which washes a 3.5kg load in 60 minutes? There’s even a 15°C wash cycle too. The LED control panel offers 4 spin speed and 5 temperature options.

Finally, the brushless motor guarantees extremely quiet operation, while the Aqua Protection System ensures that when water is filling the drum and draining out, any leakage is detected, and the water supply to the machine is shut off automatically.

Yes, very! Going to buy one of these when my Bosch gives up on me as I love the 15 minute and 60 minute wash cycles.

The price seems to have bottomed out now ... see here

These are brand new machines (Panasonic are new to the market ... hence the promo) so not many reviews. There are some out there though ... have a search. Think there's one on Amazon and a few on the Panasonic site itself (though you might naturally be wary of them, but they did seem like reviews as opposed to self-promos). There's also a couple of Youtube clips if you want to see the machine itself.

I want to get one too but my OH would go mad as only had the Bosch 4 years. ......

Any idea how to break a washing machine ......accidentally of course and a fault that would make it uneconomical to repair, thus better buying a new machine .....type of thing :)

you could always build a fire in the drum and take a sledge hammer to it , then just tell the other half that they left a box of matches in the pocket and they ignited and in the panic you knocked it over.

Panasonic ftw :D

why bother? Find me a Miele with an 8kg load - I just did on johnlewis.com £1,459 - thats not a stretch thats three times the price - yes it has a 10 year warranty, but you could buy two of these and save yourself the rest...

Miele are expensive - they aren't worth the money when you factor features and warranty together.

No. If I can't have one, you're not having one either !!

I've one of these. Great machine, incredibly quiet. Bought it mainly for the peace of mind a 6 year warranty gives. It is £60 less than I paid 4 months ago. If you're looking for a new machine right now, and can afford the price, you'd be mad not buy this.
#24
I ordered this a couple of days ago after looking at Samsung eco bubble & LG jetstreams, its due to arrive tomorrow so can let you know how it gets on:)

I bought this last week from Comet. Same 6 year warranty (it's direct from Panasonic) and free delivery - plus it was £20 cheaper with code 5300. Highly recommended.

Thanks for that. Have updated the post. The code expires today, so got it just in the nick of time.

I can't see any advertising by comet for the 6 year guarantee and the PDF states only participating retailers offer the 6 year warranty are comet definitly a participating retailer?

I've just got off the phone to Comet (0844 800 9595 - Option 1 then Option 1 again) to ask about the Panasonic promotion and I have been informed that they are a participating retailer. The sales lady had to check on her system and she came back and said the offer lasts until 31 March which is consistent with the Panasonic Warranty form.

No problem. I'll most probably be ordering this tonight but will give Comet another call in the next 15 minutes just to confirm. The fact that the sales lady knew the end date of the promotion means 99.9% they are a Participating Retailer but I'd rather be safe than sorry and call again for peace of mind!

where do you put the code in on the comet website? .. really HATE comet but will have to swallow my pride at this price....

It's at the bottom of the first page after you proceed to checkout. It's quite a small button which says "Click here if you have a promo code" or something like that.

I know how you feel about Comet. Would be willing to forfeit Quidco to get from John Lewis ... but the voucher makes just too good to miss. I rang John Lewis to ask if they'd price match Comet. They said they would but that they couldn't do anything til tomorrow - by which time the voucher code will have expired :(
