Added image, fixed direct link, added price and retailer name to the thread title... which we always try to show. :)

Good deal for a cheap camcorder. Someone with a minor interest in getting one. Mini DV is still the better budget video camera, still looks great.

don't forget 4% through quidco.....every little helps....ooops ...that tesco...lol

Ive had a Panasonic before and that was very good for the price, until the firewire stopped working :(
At this price I couldnt resist, the 30xOptical zoom is also very good for a camera in this price range.
Thanks OP.

A friend owns one. The video quality is very basic. You'd be much better off saving the 100 quid.
#7
not worth it .... use your phone probably better quality

Thanks for the warning. Could you expand on what you mean with quality? Is it the build, lens, camera, image...? I'm not after HD quality - a decent miniDV camcorder would do just fine...
I've read some positive reviews about this one, so I don't know what to think...

Use your phone, daftest comment I've heard in a long while. camcorderUnless you are a budding Spielberg a camcorder is only going to be used occassionally. At this price for a MiniDV one that offers better quality recordings than more recent DVD and HDD camcorders, 30 times optical zoom, cheap tapes, £1 in Poundland, compact size and the Panasonic Brand it's a bargain.

Have to agree. This is still going for £197.96 via Tesco Direct

Interesting alternative, using your Mobile Phone. Would work if you had something like the latest LG Viewty - Mobile Phone, which Records Video an Amazing 120 Frames Per Second. The Video Quality is Outstanding.

The quality of the optics and electronics are very important with video recording. 120 FPS is useful for certain situations but for general usage it’s no substitute for a quality recorder especially as it’s not viewable on a normal TV. It’s a nice gimmick though.

Is this the same camcorder that's selling in Ebuyer for £119.98?(http://www.ebuyer.com/product/134792) plus will this camcorder be any better quality wise than my 5 year old Sony CCD-TRV208E Handycam video hi8 camcorder? i'm looking for a good camcorder to take videos of the family and need one that i can hook up to the pc and edit the videos, will this let me do that as well?
