I'm not sure if it has 2 optical inputs. When I looked at the inputs in costco, they were marked as digital and optical inputs. I'm not sure if these are the same. This description was taken off pix mania. Some of the other websites state that there is only 1 optical input.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Coax and optical connections use different cable types. I use both and see no difference in sound quality. Its more down to the connections of the source player i.e. your CD player may have a Coax output or an optical output, so this is just giving you the choice to connect up to the unit.
panasonic so wont do dts with anything you connect to it complete rubbish
