Thanks, just reserved one to collect tonight. There were 2 stores that had them in stock from my nearest 9. It looks like PC World have the same offer on if your local Currys are OOS.

Thanks, whizzkid!

Just to let anyone know who is unsure, this set doesn't have an optical input, so no direct connection to PS3, Xbox, Sky HD box etc. A hot deal nonetheless.
Have edited description.

No optical connection = no way!!
#10
be better off to buy a proper amp and speakers from ebay, its not much use without an optical input
#11
What is it with 5.1's these days not coming with optical inputs? Really rather pathetic.
#12
Waste of cash. Poor sound and no upgradeablility.

Future proof yourself by buying separates it's better value in the longrun
#13
Think ill pass no hdmi or optical input.
#14
Shame it's a dvd player and not just an amp with a few inputs, DVD's are so 90's lol.

Think ill pass no hdmi or optical input.

According to Amazon it does have an HDMI connection, the reviews from people who have bought this from Amazon are very good ------ If you google 'what is best HDMI or Opical Audio' for sound quality , it appears HDMI is considered to be the winner ----- i know i was surprised as well as i have Optical Audio cables on my home theatre because i thought just like some of the posters above that it was just the opposite.

it only has HDMI OUT not IN. The LG deal is better because it has optical IN

I have just looked on the Panasonic site and 'Shaunybo' is right it does only have HDMI out ---- thats a poor spec from panasonic ----- so yes the LG looks a much better deal.

The lg also doesn't have hdmi input, but for that you would be looking at a device costing more than £99
