I have been looking for a good price on this bread maker for months this is the cheapest I have seen so far. Quidco are also doing 5% cash back at the moment bringing the price down by another £4 if you get it. Mine tracked straight away.

I know that Amazon have had this bread maker at a much cheaper price before but it is still at £94.95 at the moment - will probably drop now I have decided to take the plunge!

I wonder if any of the vouchers (e.g. the 10% one) in the Vouchers section will work for this?

SD255 and SD254 are old models and they are now replaced by SD257 and SD256WXC... looking at the new model can not spot any major difference between the old and new....

please try spending arounfd £1.10 on one of these first (esp if you've a fan assisted oven) ..our panasonic breadmaker is redundant & ended up giving it away due to the superior reults of mixing it in a trad mixer, letting the dough "proove" then whacking it in the oven on a pizza stone.

far better than the Panny (& I do love panny equipment)

I did the same, compared SD255 with SD257 on the Panasonic German webpage - the only difference I could find was that the SD257 has one more programme - it is however nowhere specified what this is. So hopefully the launch of the new models will lead to some good sales for the 'old' ones :)

But that's also a hell lot of extra work. And when it comes to fully automatic breadmakers the Panasonic gets by far the best reviews. But I trust that doing it all hand made leads to even better results.

That's the thing if you've got a basic food processor / kitchenaid / kenwood chef, then these packets are superb, bung it in, turn it on, all the kneading is done for you.

and breadmakers tend to produce bricks not loaves... never ever again, waste of time & money (unless you are making a basic jam in em.

Exc ellent, nearly bought 1 from Currys for £97 and that was an ex-display model. Don't forget 5% Quidco, that should bring down a few more quids.

Thanks for the advice (no sarcasm intended). For someone like me who doesn't even know how to make a pot noodle (kidding!!), this is the next best for me ... I think :p.

Just ordered, hopefully will turn out a nice loaf :).

I've had my Panasonic SD-252 for years. Best breadmaker ever.

I also picked up a SD-253 from Freegle for spare parts a couple of weeks ago - I was intending to use it for parts buy my mum now has it as it was fully functioning.

I've never had a bad loaf from my machine, use it 3-4 times a week (and have done for the past 4 or 5 years) and use it to make everything from pitta bread dough, pizza dough, naan bread dough and white and brown loaves for the packed lunches.

I do agree that many breadmakers produce bricks - I had 3 previous breadmakers which were cheapies before getting the Panasonic and I've never looked back - loaves not bricks for the win !
