This is selling at a hefty discount but only until Friday and may not be available in all stores-Argos Ebay outlet are selling the same model but refurbished for £450. This gets very good reviews as well.

HD camcorders will connect to a 1080 tv so you can play back on the camcorder. Recording on dvd is another subject altogether.

yes it connect through mini HDMI, quality on this camera maybe is not as good as on panasonic sd600 but definetly comparable with Panasonic SD60 and has 32gb built in, for 229 cannot go wrong can it?

Canon is a good entry level camcorder-but beware it does not have optical image stabiliser-only a digital one which is not as good, aslo image uality leaves a lot to be desired. Review here-http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/camcorders/canon-legria-hf-r18-review-50001512/

My philosophy on buying anything photographic is if you buy cheap your image will likely be cheap as well.

Hi

Voted hot. I just picked the last one up at Nottingham. I wanted a 5 year warranty but that offer expired at the end of last year and it looks like this is now end of line as the SD800 is replacing it. I looked yesterday and can't find any difference between the SD800 and SD600 other than that the SD800 takes the new 3D lens.

The SD800 is looking like being £700 without the 3D lens (although you can get it for about £550). Hence this makes this price a steal!

Is the panasonic default warranty 1 year?

-Darren

fill the form for cashback or memory card from panasonic, it is possible that offer is extended as it still on panasonic's website, I did similar things with panasonic blu ray recorder 750 250gb and I got blu ray movies from offer which expired 2 weeks eariler and was still on internet.
It is worth the shot, I would ask for memory rather than 10% cashback as maybe they have memories still
