great tele for the price - but new range out now the PX70's and they're not much more. Worth looking into newer model as they dont suffer from purple snakes problem. THis is def still a bargain though.

excellent deal - was looking in the panasonic shop at lunch time today - the 37inch px70 with table top stand was £999.99 - obviously you have to allow a little for their inflated prices tho'.

what's a purple snake?

Lol, purple snakes are legendary. I've only ever seen one, it was trying to sneak up and kill Dr Mark Greene on ER:w00t:

It's an infamous Panasonic plasma issue that many owners have encountered to varying degrees. Like I say, only seen it occur once on my set.

The 70 model is the newer one... and is all black. If you like black and don't like snakes then go for the new one. I have a PX60 version riddled with snakes on almost all Film4/BBC3/ITV digital films plus less occasionally on normal (BBC1 etc) channels. Am holding off getting the D board change as it sometimes makes the picture quality worse. I would swap it for a 70 if I got the chance.

ok! thanks for your answer, and sorry to hear of your visual problems. If it makes you any happier you can be glad you're arent me; I do all my viewing on a 17" non widescreen TFT. Good for games but nothing else

WTF is a purple snake?

I have this tv and it's a cracker!

Excellent SD picture quality, excellent HD quality.

I paid £1350 about 6 months ago. :(

I've seen the 37" PX70 for £849... AVForums has a thread dedicated to the PX70 range and people are listing the cheapest prices they've seen if you're interested.

If you haven't seen them then you either haven't got a set affected by them or you just haven't noticed. My advice is not to go looking for them - once you see them they won't go away.
