This is a superb deal for a current top of the range 42" model from Panasonic at Dixons.

Get the tv and wall bracket for only £788. Add the 5% off discount voucher NHS2007 and it takes it down to £749. Then down to only £719 after the 4% from quidco.

Get the tv with table top stand for only £819. Add the 5% off voucher NHS2007 and it takes it down to £778. Then down to only £747 after quidco.

I have the previous model (the PX60) and it's superb.

Here's a review of the TH42PX70:

http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Panasonic-TH42PX70/

Edit:

The 5% discount code doesn't work with Dixons. Only with Currys. So the best you can do is £10 off with 10JUNEAW.

The other option is Empire Direct. They are giving 10% off today until 5pm plus a 5 year warranty. This takes it down to £749 including delvery. See my post below.

Great price. Don't forget to use your Egg card for another 5% off if you have one.

Get the PED from empiredirect using their current 10% off voucher for £854 inc del and 5 year warranty.
#3
Just tried this NHS2007 voucher code today and it doesn't work. Any ideas?

Thanks

Damn you electronic progress... Paid £800 for the px60 just after Christmas. Is a fantastic set - however be aware that because the native screen res is 1024 x 768 there's a lot of scaling going on behind the scenes and you won't get the ultimate benefit of HD-dvd or blueray(still looks good though)

If you need a tv now and still watch a lot of SD stuff then is a fantastic price for a quality set - however if you're after a full HD experience and you're looking to for the ultimate picture then you may want to wait.

I have the good fortune to own one of these (bought it last week from laskys.com for £749.00 with 2.5% quidco & free saturday delivery!) and its the best TV i have ever owned. Perfect for SD and also have a panasonic upscaling DVD player to see what the 720p looks like.. Just need a HD player now :D
Be careful if you do buy one though. There is a lot of information on AVFORUMS about this set and the 'run in' period and settings you should use.

Great deal - great price

I bought a Panny plasma about 18 months ago for £1300 (and that was a bargain then). It is sd,but xbox360 looks amazing on it,The prices are fairly coming down are they

btw I was looking for a ped for my version last night and they are still asking £200 for them, so if you are thinking of getting a ped get one now as they are a lot cheaper if bought with tv

Its been a long time since ive seen a NHS code for dixons. However currys does have that code. Are you sure your not mixing them up?

Are you sure your not talking about the CAB. The ped for £99 is pretty easy to find. John lewis do it and you can get 10% Off if you have a MBNA card and buy vouchers or £10 off using the codes on here.

http://www.johnlewis.com/Audio+and+TV/TV+Accessories/TV+Accessories/Television+Stands/193/230419922/Product.aspx

EDIT: This is the stand for the panasonic PX70. Is cheaper to buy the tv from dixons and just about everywhere with the stand. Unless they charge more then £90 for the stand included. (some places will sell the tv at a price and then just add £99/100 for the stand.) If your wanting to save the pennies you can then buy the stand from pixmania for £87.90 or john lewis for £92.95 with the £10 off voucher.

Apologies!!! I thought the NHS2007 code would also work with Dixons if it worked with Currys.

So the best you can actually do is £778 using the £10 off code.

Otherwise you can get the same deal from Empire Direct for £719 +£30 delivery using the 10% off code. Username is 10percent and voucher code is EV3562. With that you get the 5 year warranty.

Did a search with panasonic site. Searched for the stand... £39. Delivery is £16 but if you still need one!

EDIT: THIS IS NOT THE STAND FOR A PANASONIC PX70

Far better to get it from Empire direct using 10% code and get a 5 year warranty.

Had mine for about 3 months now and its a cracking TV.

No the pixmania one for £39 is NOT the stand for the PX70!

Check the John lewis one i posted further up the thread. Thats the stand you need. You can use a £10 voucher from the forum and get it for cheaper.

Edit:

This is the stand for the PX70. However for the small price difference i would buy it from john lewis.

hey what is fleabay url??

10% off Empire Direct today? and that wasn't on the front page?

Instead we get mouse repellents and Scent of a Woman 2.99 DVDs.

Do Dixons only offer 12 months warranty? I'd much rather be covered for five years and just wish I had spotted that Empire Direct deal earlier. :(
#23
isnt there a standard 5 year warrenty for pannies?

there is a thread about it and is mentioned here on this thread too
#24
Its only for official Panasonic retailers. Not everyone offers it.

Dixons love to screw you on "£300 for 2 years cover" type guarantees.

Typical pixmania standards. Just pray your TV has no problems as returning anything to them is a nightmare. I wouldnt touch them even if the TV was half price!

LOL - Are you serious?

NO They never had it in stock at all.
I received email day after I bought it stating that they did not have any in stock and did not know when they would get any more in.
I phoned a few times and eventually got my money back.

ALL THIS TIME IT WAS STILL SHOWING AS IN-STOCK ON THEIR SITE

if it is stand you are after then I have just bought CAB from e-bay, and am taking tv off wall
