What do you mean by this

"Because It is the newest model, you are more likely to view things in 1080p, rather than old models, where there is more chance of the picture being converted back to 720p."

This is still a 1080i/720p set, there is no difference viewing on this, or the older PX70 or the older PX60 they are all essentially the same, the only difference is that this and the PX70 can display a 1080p signal, but it downscales it.

MarreZ is right though it can sound abit confusing. This set is 720p however when MarreZ says it can display 1080p he means it can handle a 1080p input such as a blue ray drive or a PS3. It will however only display it at 720p! Somewhere at some point most likely of your choosing the picture will be converted back to 720p.

Edit: Also its still pretty rare for anything to be 1080p apart from maybe blueray and HDDVDs. Most of the time things are upscaled to 1080p.

Got one of these locally (ie not from this retailer) last week delivered for £739.99, I was impatient & they said they'll deliver this afty, I'm weak, I caved! Very very nice, beats my mates HD LCD hands down on standard def' input which is what'll be put through it 90% of the time. XBOX 360 looks so sweeeeeeeeeeet on component too, got me back into gaming! Good price, well found.

1080p sources are rare - a small number of PS3 and xbox360 games (well mainly demos tho!)
