STONKING BARGAIN! (whatever stonking means) ;-)
#6
..........and only £60 for 5 years warranty!!
suspended#8
doesn't have an excellent contrast ratio :s it's half what most other plasma have and that's supposed to be plasmas defining feature
#9
Only available in store .... well what a surpirse from Richer Sounds. Sometimes wonder why they even bother having a ruddy website.

Certain Dixons codes expired last night so I’m wondering if you checked that the price you quoted is still good today!

That’s one good reason to use RicherSounds and they’ll even refund the extended warranty premium if you don’t use it; you need a good memory of course. :-D

The proof is in the pudding, go read some reviews and have a look at one in the flesh

Just quoting what the thread says. You say you think it's expired, what have you based that on?

What's wrong with 15,000: 1? My PX60 is less than that and the picture is awesome!

I think you will find 15,000:1 is very good indeed! The pioneer kuro pdp lx508d at £3,500 has 20,000:1

Contrast ratio is NOT the whole story when it comes to plasma. Hard to ever find a bad review of these Panny's

was tryin codes n thought they all expired?

What about john lewis price match? Got tokens from work instead of cash only certain suppliers. Is it true it needs to be in a local shop on the shelf with the price showing?

meant to edit there?

I had a Humax PVR in the basket yesterday and the code worked and today it’s expired. I don’t know which code you are referring to so I can’t test it.

i have an older Panny (600 series), the contrast on that model is 10,000:1 which is more than adequate.

Well on the richer website it says:

"Please note the web price may be cheaper than the price shown in store, so please mention that you've seen this offer online."

And john lewis price match with instore prices!

Sound and vision in bolton have increased the instore price on this set as everyone was buying from john lewis with a sound and vision price match!

- Inc spks & stand @ richer remember!!
#33
Superb deal. Was a lot more expensive when i bought this. Anyway top notch
#34
Great TV I bought the 37" version and even in SD the picture is really good. If you want a flat screen buy this one.

The speakers and stand are standard on all variants of this models (speakers built in).
#36
the " Inc spks & stand" makes it sound like false advertisement. I have it and I love it, if you are like me, watch a lot of tele with SD signal then this is a great choice.

There are so many numbers thrown away like contrast ratio..etc, the best is to go to a store (i went to coment) and compare them side by side with different channels from freeview to HD, football to movies..etc

Finally...why dont you just get it from Jogn Lewis, free delivery, 5 year guarantee for 649 http://www.johnlewis.com/230475075/Product.aspx

Note that this model need to be upright all the times so it requires special delivery and handling. Yes plasma can be difficult to take care of sometimes.
#37
Had this for a month now and it really is top notch. got it for 648 from john lewis with 5 year warranty and free delivery.. price matched sound and vision's store in bolton.

jpjenkins

Don't forget this is the static contrast ratio, LCD's quote the dynamic ratio which is not comparable. For example, the dynamic contrast on the Sony W4000 is 33,000:1 and this TV is claimed to have 1,000,000:1see here
#39
You have linked to the TH-42PZ80B model!!
The model in question is NOT 1080p - though the quality of the picture is superb it is only (1,024 x 768).
#40
I want this TV sooooo much! Been keeping an eye on this model for a long while.
Gonna have to wait a while longer, though. Unfortunately I'm on a tight budget - so am going to wait until I can get it <£600 including 5 year warranty. (Even that's more than I can afford, but I'd rather go over budget on this than get some cheapo no-make.)

Heat and rep for OP. Definitely the cheapest I've seen it.
