    ................. You can buy a BIGGER and better TV for that price, e.g. Sony Bravia 46" X Series... I have seen places like Digital Direct doing it for a 100 or so quid more.

    However the Panasonic you have put on is a bloody good TV especially with the stand....

    get a pioneer 42" for that much better tv
    getoblast
    The 70 is like 50 mhz and the 700 is the 100 mhz - in other words the refresh rate is much quicker... the 700 model is the best of the best... much better than any pioneer (check out which)

    Also it's TRUE FULL HD! Visit the Panasonic website and read up...

    Like I've said in the past if you're looking for a 46" buy a 46" but if you're looking for a 42" this is the best price I have found...

    Make sure when you search - the price is NOT for the; TH-42PX700CAB or the TH-42PX70CAB

    And that is is the TH-42PZ700CAB

    The full list can be found here;

    LOL!!!!!

    its really not mate! The pioneer kuro range are the best of the best. forget 1080p as its impossible to tell from normal viewing distance the difference in resolution on a 42" screen!

    Its a great screen the panny, but its not better than the pioneer 428xd for picture quality straight and simple!

    Please, try not to mis-inform. This is incorrect.

    The main differences:

    - the PZ700 has an extra HDMI at the front
    - the PZ700 has PiP
    - the PZ700 has much better speakers, 20w SRS TruSurroundXT speakers as opposed to the 10w stereo

    I was just giving a simple answer... but yes you are right to correct me on that.

    Reading on the reviews;
    "Inevitably, we have made some comparisons, the ace up the Panasonic TH42PZ700's sleeve being Full HD native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels whereas the Pioneer PDP-428XD has a 1,024 x 768 format. The extra pixels allow the TH42PZ700 to resolve every detail of 1080i and 1080p sources, rather than scaling these pictures to fit".

    BUT reading on the reviews;
    Conclusion A
    If you want to pull this Pioneer straight out of the box and have little or no interest in 'tinkering' with its performance then the PDP-4280XD will make an ideal high end choice.

    The extra features offered by the PDP-428XD will appeal to the TV enthusiasts out there, not necessarily those of you who enjoyed poking a screwdriver into the back of your old CRT, but those of you interested in the technicalities of getting the very best picture from your plasma.

    The Pioneer PDP-4280XD has given us all the feeling that the days of CRT outperforming plasma with SD sources are numbered. The PDP-428XD is not quite there yet, but the difference is negligible, and with HD sources the PDP-4280XD in our opinion brings you the ultimate home viewing experience.

    Conclusion B
    Inevitably, comparisons will be made between the TH42PZ700 and the similarly priced Pioneer PDP-428XD. For all round performance including standard as well as high definition the Pioneer is the one to choose, but as the centrepiece of your HD home cinema, the TH42PZ700 is a serious contender.

    So...
    Do you go;
    Full HD native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels or 1,024 x 768 format...

    I'm going to have to find a high street shop that sells both and take it from there lol
