Looking around for a new TV, the reviews suggest that Plasma is slightly better for viewing SD, and as good for HD as a good LCD. I thought this was a good deal - so have already bought it. The website price is £782.97, then use the 10% discount code (EM5159) and add £19.99 for delivery - making a total of £724.66. When comparing other prices, remember the 5 year warranty is often an expensive extra!

You won't be disappointed, I bought the PZ85 about 4 months ago for £1200, I thought this was a bargain, but your price is well worth it!!! Invest in an HD Compatible DVD and connect it via HDMI, upscaling to 1080 is just super. I've now bought a blu-ray player and this is just super. Thinking of upgrading to Sky HD just to get the best out of the TV.

We got a real bargain black glass stand which sets it off beautifully, not sure where, but I can find out if you need to know. If you need other inf, please PM me.

TV is heavy, oh and must be kept vertical at all times, don't lay it flat!!! It will need two to assemble.Just make sure the delivery is a two man job and the TV is vertical. Only good piece of advice at this time....

Thank you, some useful info. I am hoping it will be a bit of an improvement on the 6 year old CRT! I do need to sort out a stand, but am going to have a look around. I've got something that will do in the meantime.

Thank you - saw that (at £733), but didn't see anything about a guarantee or a warranty. As it was out of stock - I gave up on Dixons!

This is an amazing deal. This is what the HD Ready TH42PX80B was back in June when I bought that, and this is Full HD with better contrast ratio. And the PX80B is a brilliant television that I have been very happy with, even when comparing to friends' 1080P LCD televisions.

My CRT was a Panasonic 100 HZ, and I was reluctant to change it. I'm glad I did, just make sure you are sitting at least 8 feet from the screen, any closer and you will be disappointed viewing SD. HD and Blu-ray are fine at any distance but SD needs a wee bit more.

Oh you should get a cleaning cloth with the TV, I've only ever used this - no liquids, polish, nothing, just a dry cloth. Hopefully this should suffice.

Can you use the 10% code and opt to pick up thus saving 19.99 making total price 704.67 inc 5 yr warranty

Totally Hot and I can't see this getting any cheaper

what model does costo have?

you sure its this one?

many people get confused wiht the models and there is a fair bit of a difference

42px80 (720p HD Ready)
42px8 (as above but not as good panel, only 2 HDMI Sockets)

42pz80 (1080p Full HD)
42pz80 (1080p Full HD, not as good panel as on the PZ model, only 2 HDMI Sockets)

The voucher EM5159 has expired now.

Do you get the 5 year warranty on Empire Direct sales as the following seems to suggest it is only when being demo'd instore.
