Comet were doing these for £49.95 last month and it was a very popular deal (135 degrees) why no realinterest in this today?

Thanks for this motley :)

Good price for this triple set. ~ £75 @ Amazon (a review below).

Over the last few years, we've had various DECT products of varying quality, longevity and functionality in our home. This trio of Panasonic phones, which I bought six months ago, looks set to both meet our needs and outlast our previous models.

The knocked back matt silver finish recedes subtly into the background in each household location. The ergonomics are good, suiting both the young kids and adults alike. The directory has to be typed in - no importation facility - but once done is easily propogated amongst the other phones. Each phone has a speaker for hands-free use as well as being useful to monitor calls whilst a message is left (on all three phones simultaneously). Transfering calls is easy to do and the intercom feature is easy to use - you just need to remember that phone 1 is in the kitchen, phone 2 in the lounge, etc. The phones are reasuringly robust and have survived relatively rough handling by kids. The three base units are small and elegant; also in knocked back matt silver. The answering machine function can be controlled and used from any of the phones.

I like these phones!

Same here. Bought them about 3 months ago from John Lewis for £45 (pricing error on their web site :) ). Excellent quality.
#6
Yes, got the same phones from John Lewis just before Christmas for £45 (£55 minus £10 voucher). Plus 8% Quidco of course!
Phones are excellent - ergonomics and call quality is very good. The ability to copy the phonebook to the other handsets is also very useful.
#7
Unfortunetely for me Quidco didn't track properly. So they only gave me half the commission (4%) after making a manual claim. Still, better than nothing.

Nice price on these :)

Forgot to say the only downside for me is that the pre-recording message on the answerphone sounds (as my mother-in-law put it) like it was recorded by an apathetic teenager... Not exactly a major problem though... :)
#10
I am sure you can record your own message.
#11
Yes, just don't like the sound of my own voice on those things... would rather use a decent pre-recorded message.... like I said, not a major problem. :)

Does anyone know if the Caller ID will work on NTL:Telewest:Virgin?

I think so... ;-)

Wish I'd hung out for these instead of buying the iDECT ones from Comet a few months ago. They look great but the sound quality is terrible!

Argos say that this deal ends on the 21st Feb, which means that on the 21st the price will be back up to normal, so the last day you can get one at this price is the 20th (tuesday). The online store won't have any in until after that date, so you can only try for one in store or reserve in-store and pick up on or before the 20th. If you reserve now and pick up on or after the 21st, you'll be charged full price.

Do you need to plug the additional handsets into phone sockets are do they operate wirelessly from the main unit?
#23

Yes you have to plug in the extra ones for them to charge up on.

I bought the duo set for £59.99 just last week.

Sick or what :whistling:

You DON'T have to plug the additional base stations into phone lines but into the mains if you want to use them to recharge. As you say they make a wireless connection with the primary base station.

I spoke to someone on the old-fashioned electric telephone, however I popped into town today to see if it was in stock as I was passing Argos, the store manager said that even though it might not arrive until after the sale had expired he would honour the sale price. That was at Argos in Frome. The official company line according to the online argos helpline however is that the in-store reservation only reserves the item, not the price so it's down to the individual manager. You can but try!

Also if you do reserve one in store, you don't have to pick it up under pain of death, you could always refuse if the price has gone up and the manager won't honour the original price.

Managed to pick one up today in Winchester.

I think some stores got limited new stock, or some reservations ran out.

Managed to just reserve a set at Wakefield Westgate, there is a set available at Wakefield Ridings at time of writing and I have a set reserved at Castleford until close of business tomorrow if anybody wants the reservation code since it is easier for me to visit Westgate.

Got some of these today, fantastic quality!

Just one question, is it possible to assign the handsets 'code names' instead of just Handset 1, 2, 3 etc? Calling them 'Living Room, Kitchen, Bedroom' would be better and I can do it on my old cordless phones, just can't seem to find a similar option on the Panasonics
