100 Hz LCD TV with superior design, IPS Alpha Panel, complete connectivity and iDTV

Panasonic's V-Real II technology, acclaimed for delivering outstanding HD image quality. This advanced technology is featured in the LXD70. It also uses the IPS Alpha panel, which provides excellent viewing from almost any angle.

The LXD70 incorporate two technologies. 100 Hz Motion Picture Pro greatly reduces blurring in fast-moving scenes, so pictures are always smooth and clear, and the Intelligent Scene Controller helps reproduce vivid, natural images with pure blacks.

V-Audio Sound features Panasonic`s digital amplifier and bottom speaker design - the delightful match for the VIERA viewing experience.

i was comparing size and HD:whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling:

I think people are making the point that you appear to be suggesting that, to use a car analogy for example, a large KIA is better than a small BMW.

Panasonic have a heritage and reputation in the world of TVs.

Acoustic Solutions are.... well I'll leave you to work out the rest yourself:p

That's the problem with HDTV's, people assume bigger is better. If you predominantly watch standard definition TV (which most of us do) then a smaller screen will actually deliver better performance than a large TV, especially close up. This is a good deal if you're after a 26" screen.
#7
Is it 1080p full hd :p

 Got one a year or so ago from JL on a price match - £200 off and a 5 year guarantee,

Even so I paid more than this and it was (is) well worth it.

Strong recommend

Decent tv, but pricey for a 26incher nowadays. Plus, Pana's main strength in TV is Plasma not LCD.

I wouldnt pay £400 for this.

Which Magazine lists the top ten LCD's to buy.
9 of them are Panasonic, according to them Panasonic's have a far superior picture to other brands.
Not everyone wants a 37 or 40 inch screen, and whats the point if the picture sucks.

cheers 4 that - its come up now .
having checked reviews on this tv after seeing the big pockets deal
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/198950/panasonic-viera-26-hd-lcd-televisio/

I really wanted one of these for my mother its just about one of the highest rated 26 inchers out there and for
only £40 more than big pockets with 3 yr warranty - that will do me.

John Lewis want £649 for this though with an extra 2 yrs warranty on top.

reserved and picking up in morning.

How can u compare Acoustic Solutions with Panasonic?????

thought I would mention this for LCD fans me & my mate were watching the euro cup final on sunday night in a walkabout bar and they had loads of flatscreens round the place.

We both reckon that the Sharp 32 inchers they had above the bar were showing a brilliant picture for the fast action football and the colours , picture quality were superb close up but def no blurring on the action.

I have no idea if they were playing it thro HD and I dont know the model but excellent tv.

its a thought I might give them a ring in the morning - those extra 2 years could well be worth it - as does anybody really know how long LCD's really last before playing up !!

cheers 4 the reminder

Odd that they list with one scart and one dvi socket where as every other store says two scarts no dvi?

Does anyone have any experience of how well 1366 x 768 works as a computer monitor in practice?

Last year this would of been considered as a baragin, but i have to agree it is abit pricey for today. But then again you pay for what you get, and it's quality with Panasonic.

I would buy it, no doubt.

Yep, go into any shop, compare a Panasonic with pretty much any other model, and you'll see a pretty dramatic difference. I'd much rather have a small, good quality TV than a cheap, nasty large one; that's why I bought a TX26LXD52 a few years ago for £800 (pricematched down from £1,000) and haven't looked back; my and my housemates have four LCDs between us and my Panasonic is much, much better than the others.
Hot.

I've got this tv, bought just over a month ago for the Euro footie so gutted at the price, even though I got the 5yr warranty included.

Well recommended tv though - great picture on every channel and blew everything else out the water in the tv shop, including the best Sony's. Sometimes the 26" tv's have scaled down technology, this has everything a really good 32" has, 100hz, great viewing angle.
#22
This looks a great price with the 3 year warranty as well, nearly paid £349.99 for
the Sony KDL-26U2000(avoid at all costs) in the local Argos clearance shop the Sony
is a baga nails according to avforums.Would have gone for this if I had not decided to
go bigger:-D
#23
I have the 37" version of this TV and very good it is too. I paid nealry £700 for mine so this is a good deal. Mine has Freeview built in to it, not sure about this one, though I haven't been able to get a good signal, probably due to the area I live in. Playstation 3 looks great in 1080p.
#24
Got this TV from Amazon earlier this year for £600. I use my XBOX 360, PS3, Wii and PC which are displayed with stunning quality. One of the best 26" HDTVs available.
If you compare the specs with a larger cheap brand this comes out best always.
Sure you can get cheaper 40" Tvs for the same price but the quality is poor compared to this especially when using consoles.
#25
Voted hot, its a good price when you compare it with other retailers. I've just had to send a Samsung 32" LCD TV back due to a fault and im tempted to plumb for this instead.
#26
thanks to humperdinck for the price match reminder with John Lewis

I price matched the cribbs causeway argos with the John Lewis store there.
They accepted the match so tv £399, 5year warranty and free delivery (anywhere in uk) good as i am miles away !

Great deal me thinks - for the extra 2 years warranty !

The down side was the hoops the staff answering the phones in that store make you jump thro to get the deal.

They try to make you wait up to 2 days for a pricematch reply - be VERY insistent that you need a reply today.

It took 7 calls to the store in 7 hours to get a result.

The Sub sales office girl agreed the price match, tried to get me to purchase the TV while saying she would check out if I could get the 5 Yr warranty - which I had told her twice already was the only reason i had gone to them !!

Tthe same girl said she could agree this deal as a "one off" and I thought thats what their office was all about !

The worse part was that all the staff I talked to said they were logging my request and details and none did which is annoying as hell - repeating everything 6 or 7 times.

For a big company they could be a damn side better organised and more efficient than they appear.

Still peace of mind warranty was just about worth the stress - just !

I tried ordering online (reserve and pick up) and although it said it could be ordered to pick up in a week, the next stage said out of stock, so i'll have to keep trying.

Heat Added.

Picked one up today thanks to the poster. Wanted this model for a while was just waiting for the right price, the extra 3 year warranty made it too good to ignore.

Tried to get price match at John Lewis MK yesterday after work. He said they couldn't do it there and then because it wasn't in the catalog, so I filled in the form. Wish I'd been as persistent as bobbybuilder!

We picked one up this morning. When we got it home, no sign of three year guarantee - who provides this, is it Argos? Should it have been in the box or provided separately?

Thanks, Norm

I got my leaflet when I picked up the TV.

However all you need to do is call 0844 391 1056 with details (name, address, date of purchase, order no, make, model and purchase price). The offer is valid until 27 July and claim must be made within 30 days of purchase. By the way it also seems to include accidental damage cover.

Hope the above helps

I got a blue argos breakdown cover leaflet with the receipt stapled inside. There's no actual mention of the 3 year warranty on the receipt itself, all the guy did was circle the bit inside the leaflet that listed the 3 year warranty at £79.99. After I came out I thought to myself, anyone could circle that with pen and it doesn't really prove I've got a 3 year warranty.

I got my price match from john lewis today, for bluewater store if this helps anyone wanting one from there. can someone update me just to check does the warranty of 3 and 5 years include the normal 12 month standard warranty or is it in addition to, i thought some items were by law supposed to give good service for around five years anyway, under consumer right ect.
can you confirm the insurance from argos includes accidental damage? even though house insurance can cover this.
im contemplating where to go for it now, can get 9% off at argos if you buy using mbna gift vouchers, for those with a mbna credit card.
#38
i managed to get one on Sunday, seems to be the last one in the area as showing out of stock everywhere..

anyone know what the best settings are for this tv, or which page to link to on the AVForums ?
#39
Seems some of you are more persuasive than I  The lady in "under sales" basically said the same as the chap in-store, that the TV needs to be in a catalog or printed in one of their offers booklet. JL don't match Internet prices. Still I managed to get one from an Argos not to far away, haven't opened it yet as I was holding on for JL. Thanks to the OP.

If anyone is after one of these in the BEDFORD area, I have a reservation that elapses TONIGHT Wed 9/7 at "Bedford Interchange" Argos - ie 8pm.

"Panasonic TX-26LXD70 26in HD Ready Digital LCD TV. 087/0498" - just checked and its still £399.99 on their website.

So private me here soon if you GENUINELY want the # and intend to use it tonight - otherwise there should be one available to reserve there afresh if/when the Argos system releases the reservation some time tonight.

(Got the reservation as a friend's gran wanted the lower "M" model for more than this, and I thought she'd be over the moon to get this FAR FAR better set for less, but she doesnt like the silver surround frame - oh well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.)

PS: I'm off out so the Res # for anyone who WILL use it is : 265294 - can I suggest you post at the end of this thread that you are doing so to avoid anyone else rushing there in next 1h45m - good luck :)
