It must be a matter of time that this tv will be available for under 600 with a 5 year guarantee.

I just came on to post this. The most bizarre thing happened to me on Thursday, I received an Amazon Gift Certificate for £625 from our company MD but I was so tight I was waiting for the tv to come back down from £699 and it just has - woopee, one paid for TV!

Would have been better with a 5 year guarantee but I guess you can't have everything!

I've worked there for nearly 9 years and it's never happened before, in fact I thought it was spam as I'd just been onto my Amazon wishlist and thought I must have activated something!

sounds like something is overheating or panel controller faulty I would arrange a repair/replacement if I was you.

SD picture and sound quality is very good as is viera cast (I love youtube on the telly!) it hooks up to a SD PVR just fine as well as the PS3. sound quality is fine but it does feed sound out to the A/V receiver too, connect this to HDMI2. The same net connection means it can play music/video from the PC too.

All in all very very happy with it.

Bought this 3-4 weeks ago. Awesome. SD is much better than my old Samsung 32" LCD. HD channels are great. Just played Xbox 360 on it today for the first since getting it and it looks absolutely brilliant.
#26
@Rezler what games do you play on Xbox 360 I read comments from a few owners that games on 360 suffer from a rainbow effect/double imaging especially bad was pes 2011.

Would they price match an online only deal? I wouldn't have thought so.

joedredd: Is it an online only deal???, I am not sure of the instore price, but you can "reserve and collect" at store for the online price, so technically it would be available instore and they would price match... here's hoping anyway!... I will try it tomorrow!

That's how they labelled on the site when I looked earlier. In store it's still 699.
I bought reserved and collected last night and paid in store this morning so it's a battle of terminology. I just know price promises are finiky about online promotions vs actual instore deals.

It's worth a go anyway! Good luck. :D

Question to G20 owners:

Any regrets buying the TV or are you happy with it?

Hiya - Ive had this tv for about 5 months now. All in all I am happy with it. I have a decent 40 Sony LCD in the back room as well so I compare the two of them.
The good:
HD is very good - having a built in Freesat adds a little flexibility
Plug in a hard drive via usb then you have a PVR for under £50 that you can hide out of the way. A bit rubbish that you can not record and watch something via HDMI but I can live with that.
Connects to my home media server - so pictures/ music and movies all stream very nicely
Veriacast is good - you can sign up with a movie streaming service and you get £10 worth of free movies to start from. They stream in near DVD quality.
Would recomend hooking it up to a sony blue ray so you get both Pany and sony online features
Power off switch on the side.

The bad -
In SD the skin tones can be a bit graded when moving fast. I have only noticed this over the past 3 weeks so I might see if it is a warrantee issue but it bugs me a little. I have calibrated it and updated the firmware but still the same.
It can heat your room for you - it blasts out the heat.
Pausing live tv is a bit hit and miss.
Humms a little. I haven't figured out what tune it is trying to do yet :-)

The ugly
Well it is not the nicest looking set when compared to some of the LED out at the moment. But it is not unbearable.

All in all it is a good tv and for the deal above that is amazing. CF with the sony I think the sony is slightly better for motion in SD but everything else is better on the pany.

If anyone else has any questions specifically about the set then PM me.

ive already been. its 10% from the difference. so £700 -£100 -£10 = £590. The promotional code does not count.

Best to buy from comet and use code and quidco. Went to panasonic store and the guy said £650 is best with 5 year warrantee. I'm almost certain we could get this TV for under £600 with 5 years come this christmas time. However is it worth waiting a few months for it? Maybe not. Will decide tomorrow. :-)

Thinking about it when you throw in a wall bracket and then a blue ray and home cinema with new aerials for freesat and freeview, This would work out close to a grand. Erm is it really worth getting one for the bedroom :-)

I think 3d needs a lot of tweaks to it. Best give it a few more years. Right now a high def plasma is best in my opinion. I know some people will differ and thats fine.

Do amazon refund you the difference when something like this changes in price? I only bought it last week at the higher price..
