Which store did you see the deal in?

Great TV, especially if you have a good broadband connection and use it to watch the BBC iplayer. ITV player supposed to be available soon on Freesat, but I wouldn't hold my breath!
#6
Spotted one of these in my local CDS - tv no remote or stand £245.

Just called Currys central office and the girl said she didnt have a record of that model number on their system!! Didnt have it for sale at my local branch either (Braehead, Glasgow)
#11
good price if you can find it i guess
#12
Can`t find this anywhere need some proof of deal.......searched but nothing? Like aliboy said got the 32inch for £549 (_;)
#14
please post the branch details and proof of purchase.
#15
This absolutely, definitely is the price - but..

I bought one of these on Friday at this price but didn't post as they're clearance models and almost exclusively ex-display, so in my opinion it didn't count. I was fortunate to find an 'open box' TV in London's Oxford Street store, but all remaining stores in London and as far as Luton were still ex-display only.
#16
which store? I will drive up there now lol
#17
I have this TV and and cant recommend it enough.
#18
15 mins have gone and no one raised their hand regarding the location of this .... haux ... and COLD!
#19
As said above, this model is discontinued, hence only stock left in Currys/PCW is clearance which often means ex display. Unlikely to find stock.

Anyone know next cheapest?
#20
G30 will be out in the next couple of weeks, so they are clearing stock.

Completely different model. And that's LCD not Plasma - you cant get a 32" plasma.

Let me put it this way. I work near Oxford Street, and had the open box one reserved for me. They told me the next nearest place that had more than one in stock (ie not ex-display) was out past Wembley. I went there, and they were both ex-display. They searched locally as far as Luton - all ex-display, so I went back to Oxford Street and bought the open box model.

If you can find this brand new and sealed at this price, you've got the plasma bargain of the year. My guess is people are voting before they see these somewhat major caveats!

I have the 50 inch version of this tv. People probably need to be aware of a couple of issues with it.

1) It can buzz a bit with really bright/white scenes
2) It has this very irritating feature that automatically adjusts the contrast of the scene depening on the brightness of the scene. If the programme/movie goes from one dark scene to another slightly less dark, you get a massive black fluctuation to compensate. No idea why the engineers thought this would be a good idea
3) Google 'rising black levels' with this tv and this is another negative feature (although I have put well over 1000 hours of watching into my set and the black levels appear to be as they were when I first switched it on)

Otherwise a decent set.
#24
Hot! Called the central number, the only one on the system with that model number is the 3D version, so this was probably only store-specific. Although if people have spotted this in more than one place then there might be a chance that it's about elsewhere... Only option is to go down to your local store and find out...

was looking for this t.v. at weekend in glasgow. currys had this in store for this price but bizarrely this price was ONLY FOR EX DISPLAY MODELS which had been pawed and fingered by the general public. managed to get same one in john lewis brand new for exact same price (but with free 5 year guarantee). the ones john lewis had were not on their website..instore only. (incidentally currys offer a guarantee for £6.99 a month which is pathetic really when you consider the cost of 5 years cover)
#26
ewanyengi - Did you get John Lewis to price match or did they have it for that price anyway ? Also could you tell me which currys had the ex display stock.

I haven't had mine out the box long enough to know, but this is apparently with only a selected number of the sets. I'm obviously hoping it's not the case with mine either, but I don't think it'd be right to say outright that they all have it, certainly the buzzing issue alone.

This TV is a clearance item. The Southport Currys.digital store has one left, the display model, at £548.97 (or something like that). You'll be lucky if you can get hold of one, I'd imagine.

Great looking TV though ;)

Good tv. Got one in my living room. Might buy a g30 and use g20 on my PC/console.

I have tried every option on the menu and there doesnt seem to be a way. I would love to know if there is! (and I have googled it millions of times)

@en3sge.....

I have this 42" model and it buzzed like crazy. It is mounted on the wall on a cantilever arm and one day when pushing the set back towards the wall I realised the buzzing reduce. After a little trial and error I realised that squeezing the bezel on the right hand side stopped the buzzing completely. I think it is something to do with the power supply. Try and see if it works for you. Otherwise call Panasonic as I had an engineer scheduled to come out until I solved the problem.

I got this yesterday from the currys in Bracknell (princess Square not the superstore). It was a closed box clearance item (their last one) only 1 year guarantee but they threw in 2 months of their extended monthly guarantee for free (must remember to cancel direct debit) and although not seemingly discounting the price ended up charging me £541 for it.

Great set for me as we cant get freeview in Reading (nor in Bracknell according to the sales guy) for some daft reason
