PANASONIC TX-P42UT50B 42" PLASMA 3D SMART TV with two pairs of actiive 3D geggs £449.00 at Comet
I just took the plunge an bought this rather nice telly today. The cheapest I could find is £499 from online retailers.
I managed to haggle a bloke in Comet down to 489.99 so agreed the purchase, when he ran it through the till it came up 449.99 so thats all I paid! Also Panasonic are running a promotion which this telly is a part of where you can claim two free pairs of active 3D glasses which is not to be sniffed at.
Also try finding any 42" Plasma that is full 1080p with Smart functionality, Sd card and Usb slots, hd freeview with recording capability, 3d capable and able to convert 2D signals to pretty impressive 3D output for this money.
I must say the picture quality is amazing, only the reflective screen lets the side down.
Could be a nation wide pricing error or just my store so please go easy on me.
All the best
Ash

Panasonic plasma = cinema quality picture.
The TV is amazing, watching kingdom of plants in 3D is amazing, clour and clarity are brilliant. It will need fiddling with a little to get the most out of it but I love this TV, DLNA is a massive plus.
For anyone complaining about 2 HDMI, this is Panasonic's entry Full HD 3D Plasma so you aren't going to get loads of stuff, i'd much rather have network / internet over a couple more HDMI ports.
Anyone apart from 'Ash1984' actually got one for £449?

can u please confirm which store? and also... not that I don't believe u... could u please scan the receipt... then I can go to my local Comet and tell them that somebody else got it...
I hope this works!
You bought the P42XT50B and when you search for this on the comet website it comes up with P42UT50B which is £499.
The link and model are incorrect in your post. This is the correct link: http://www.comet.co.uk/p/Plasma-TVs/buy-PANASONIC-TX-P42XT50B-Plasma-TV/791032
which shows the TV at £449 and out of stock.
Main differences between the 2 sets are UT is 1080p not 720p, UT has dual core processer and can also be wall mountable.
Think this has cleared it up.
