PANASONIC TX37LZD70 37" HD Ready 1080p digital LCD TV with FREE Black Stand £713.45 Delivered!

Use FIVEOFFTV and QC20 to get price down to £758.99 then use Egg card & quidco to get price down to £713.45 delivered with the black glass stand thats selling for £80+ delivery.

Not maybe a deal for everybody but having been hunting for MONTHS for the best TV at 37" to cater for Full HD and also give great Standard def picture this one seems to be the one. Nearest price I could find was £752 delivered without stand!!

Agreed IMO one of the best LCD's out there, certainly better than the samsung's which people rate, but i dont see why....
But i would always go for a 37in panasonic plasma rather than this one as the standard def picture is much better, the LCD isnt very good, like all LCD's...it isnt full hd, but youd never know - the plasma pq is deeper and sharper.

Royals, could you explain further please on this not being full HD? I thought 1080p was, or does it also need 24fps to be stated before this is true? Cheers...

Aren't you supposed to post the prices BEFORE things like Egg discounts and quidco?

I think Royal's was saying that the Plasma wasn't full HD, but you wouldn't know it. Basically saying that a SD Plasma beats HD LCD on standard definition source.

I'd agree with Royals - being an owner of the Panasonic 42Px70 - it's an amazing bit of kit producing a fantastic SD picture.

This is a great tv. It is full HD!
HD picture is excellent (as it should be) but the standard def picture is also outstanding due to the picture processing that panasonic use. It's mainly standard def pictures you'll be watching for the forseeable future so this is what counts.
Great deal with stand too.

Thanks for the clarification people. Our 10 yr old CRT Sony is taking an age to display a picture on start up so I have permission from 'er indoors to consider a replacement. Not sure whether to go LCD or Plasma, I realise that Plasma has the edge on picture quality but it seems to use an awful lot more power than LCD.

sounds like you're in the same boat as me, been looking for ages for a replacement for our sony but didnt want to buy something that would be out of date in 4/5 years before we're ready for another replacment. this tv seeems to tick all the boxes in loads of reviews - great sound - great sd picture - full hd which is something i wont have full use of for maybe another year or so, but dont want to buy something that isnt reasonably future proof

so if there's no objections to this being a great tv or if nobody can suggest a better alternative i think im going to take the plunge and order;-)

well good luck, it certainly got the top scores in a recent Which Magazine for LCD TV's. Looks like I may have to put it on hold, the Fridge/Freezer is making a funny noise apparently :-(

just ordered - due in on monday....but while i was on dixons website i noticed this

Toshiba 42X3030D 42" HD Ready 1080p digital LCD TV - £738 - comes out at £640 delivered using the same discount codes and egg/quidco thing - too big for what we're after but seems well cheap for 42" toshiba with full hd - wierdest thing is that if you go through dixons and search for 42x3030d it comes up at £799 so not sure if this is some kind of error
