How does this stack up against the Samsung 49" KU6400 and 50" KU6000? Similar specs and all VA panels.

How does this stack up against the Samsung 49" KU6400? Both very similar specs and both VA panels.

I compared them in John Lewis and went for the Panasonic. It looked better and had a sharper picture in my view. I bought it from AO in the end - for a slightly higher price than this. I am very happy with it. My only complaint would be that the picture is not so good viewing from a side angle , but I guess this would be true of comparable ones as well.

It has a VA panel, which gives better contrast & blacks, but less viewing angles compared to an IPS panel.
Personally i'd rather have a VA panel.

Thanks, interesting. I've never owned a Panasonic, not since their early plasma days. Only had Samsung or Sony LCD's. You saw this model vs the 6400 Samsung then? I know lesser Samsungs don't have such a wide colour gamut, but the 6400 seems to be most comparable to this Panasonic. What content have you watched on it? Do you game with it?

Yes I compared it with all the similar priced Samsungs , LGs and Sonys on display there and for me it was the best there. Using it , I like the way it connects to the internet. Im sorry I dont do gaming so I cant comment on that.

This is only a 50Hz panel I've discovered, unfortunately.

LOL, I assume you're joking? You do know that number is meaningless?

According to review here it's 50Hz: http://www.s21.com/panasonic-tx-50dx700b.htm

Even if that's wrong, it's only going to be 60.
