I have been searching for a TV and came across this deal on Dixons website for the newly released PANASONIC TXP42X10B Viera TV. Seemed to be a decent price compared to other websites. Use the MARCH20 Dixons code to get the TV down to £628.

this is a good deal - voted hot. But may be worth checking out Peter Jones (John Lewis) as I just got a th42pz80b for 699 with 5 year warranty - older model - full HD - may suit some as an alternative if still available.

blu-ray will output at 1080p so although the picture will look good on this set you may see further benefit from a full HD set.

It is out of stock now. that deal is dead. However I've just ordered this model from Littlewoods. I used the 10% discount code on here which takes it from £799 to £709 (less 2.5% VAT on it as well). I also went through Quidco which has tracked at 10% as well so may get some back there. If I did I'd get the tv for £650.

No 5 year warranty though.

Thanks Guy, worth a look, have seen the TH-42PZ8 for £599 from my local Panasonic shop but it only has 2 HDMI sockets and 3 really seems a must.

Will have a look at Littlewoods now.

Cheers

hmmmmmmm not full HD - whats the point!!?? - no 5 year warranty either
#21
try phoning Peter Jones in London to see if they stall have stock of the PZ80 - I posted it here but for some reason it went stone cold...http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/351326/panasonic-th42-pz80-plasma-750-tec7

The point is that not EVERYONE needs full HD sets. Its still nice to have Panasonic cater for people who just want to watch normal TV and HD on the side.
#24
and at 42" full HD will be barely noticable anyway, I'm tempted by the 37" version of the same
#25
Showing as £699 now........... You snooze you lose!!
