Battery life is fine, however it does suffer somewhat when GPS is switched on

And cheap compatible batteries now available - you need more than one on any camera - try 7 Day Shop and elsewhere.

Yep Dixons are rubbish if there is a problem. Took my 4 month old Canon back last week and had to wrestle them to get a result. Luckily I was wearing my Hulk Hogan outfit at the time :-)

It's an ebay item number. If you go on ebay and search for this number, it'd take you to the item.

I bought from Amazon on 27 Nov for £207, free super daver delivery and a free basics case. The £30 cashback was the dealwinner for me. I took a spare battery from Amazon for £11.95 and a sandisk 8gb 20mb/sec sdhc card for £17.99.

been following these for a while . if you wanted to try your luck best buy are doing 15% quidco thats about £34 as well as the £30 cashback from panasionic. they do silver and red for this price. so all going well you get it for £165

I'm not sure it's as simple as that?
'1. To qualify for cashback, you must purchase one of the following new (not second-hand) products: DMC-TZ10EB-S, DMC-TZ10EB-K, DMC-TZ10EB-R and DMC-TZ10EB-A from a participating retailer during the promotional period. '
Are you sure Dixons are one of the '£30 promotional retailers' as I cant see it on their site? (You can't just buy it from any retailer, it has to be a partner to the offer)
All the participating retailers seem to be putting large clear banners to the £30 off thing on their site, Dixons however doesn't even mention it?
Currys and PCworld don't seem to advertise it either.
EDIT
I have now typed alot of postcodes into the partner offer search and it hasn't shown any for (also DSG Group) Currys or Pcworld - so I must assume the £30 is not valid at those sellers?
Dixons is online only I think so can't check - the fact it isn't advertised on Dixons site would say to me they aren't partners either.

Needs confirming or there will be alot of people annoyed when they get their £30 refund refused........ because of this I have expired it.

A similar question was asked regards c/b on the BestBuy TZ10 deal, as like Dixons, BB doesn't show up on the list. However when checked BB is an approved dealer. Worth checking though I agree or buy at the same price from Amazon

Yes, I wasn't being awkward - just wanted confirmation, as believe me if it is a partner I will certainly be buying one, like others have been watching on here for some time now awaiting a good deal!
Sorry if I expiried wrongly, but was only basing it on the facts I could find out.

Ok, to clear this up - I have just called bestbuy customer support myself - they do NOT offer the £30 cashback deal and are not a parnter for it- anyone esle who would like to call and ask 0333 777 7777 is the number.
The guy said if it was part of the offer it would be on the site.
Wether this is right or wrong I do not know - I can only go by what he told me.

I like how it say's 'Camera-bag' on this item, just in case you might forget, or to reassure potential thieves.

I recently bought the TZ10 with the £30 cashback offer - the free bag from Amazon is ok, if slightly too big, but plain and functional.
Having already owned an FZ38 for almost a year, comparison was interesting - still photo's from the TZ10 are superb, no real difference apart from the slightly wider angle view of the TZ10.
I was a bit surprised with the AVHD video though, that from the FZ38 is definately better - looks sharper and smoother to me, the TZ10 has an odd jerky effect when panning side to side.

The GPS function for me is a little gimmicky - ok if you're a frequent traveller or have a bad memory, I leave it switched off mostly.

But, overall a great compact still camera, 2 weeks old & already have some nice atmospheric pics.

The FZ7 lasted forever! (slight exageration)
1/4 full battery on my TZ10 will take 4 photos and 30 seconds of film then shutdown.

I rang Best Buy a little over a week ago to determine if they were a participating retailer. The call centre workers were unaware of the offer, but I asked the operator to ring the Aintree store directly. She confirmed that this store was participating, and said that the cashback offer should also apply to online purchases.

Obviously this isn't a guarantee, and it's been one of the factors putting me off buying it from there. On Topcashback there's also a code for £14 off a black TZ10 at Best Buy, but it appears to be expired, even though the expiry date is the 6th :(
#34
I get your points but anything that size its pretty obvious to any would be thief thats it will be a camera or something valuable, + its the best fitting case as its curved around one side for the same curve in the camera. For that price you can't go wrong, and the text can be covered or you can put it another bag if your worried about getting stolen
