Good price for this fantastic camera but I'm not convinced it's worth that much more than the TZ7. GPS strikes me as a potentially battery draining gimmick.

Seen a TZ7 in my local shop for 230.00

So tempted, yes its 30.00, but any issues I can just walk in.

Really want the red though.

The missus is going to kill me if I buy one.
#3
Sorry kinda went off on one.

Same camera just has GPS that on all reviews they dont use or recomend using, so its pretty much a TZ7 If you think about it... LOL

Really like the cameras anyway, had a play with one today and felt really nice.

Not like my Digimax D103, Which was amazing years ago

Seams a decent enough price, was waiting for the TZ7 to hit £200 mark but instead went for the Fuji F72EXR from Jessops for £169 + 6% Quidco. Takes better pictures, 10x optical zoom and about half the size of the TZ's. OK it doesn't do HD movies but don't really need that anyway.

30 Quid off at most dealers after a demo in-store with Panasonic cashback voucher: http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/Dealers/LUMIX+DMC-TZ10+%C2%A330+Cashback/3112818/index.html#anker_3112820

A great camera bought it a few weeks ago £289 from amazon. Also had a rave review on the gadget show. Recommended at this price.

SO

I can buy online and then just fill out form, I dont have to go to shop?

Will get this in blue then
#10
Scrap that.

The terms on the claim form say, you need the original claim form not a print out copy.

And I am sure a dealer wont just give you one.

Still a good price though and great if you can get in store but I dont live near bolton

I know it's (Edit: ) NOT expired now, but for goodness sake, the TZ range are NOT all the same. The TZ10 has POWER OIS which is apparently twice as good as the MEGA OIS of its predecessors. Improved video too apparently, plus the other things like GPS etc.

There is of course a remaining question over the IQ of the new over old, some saying the old model may be better in that respect.

But the same? No.
#12
Hey! this is NOT expired. For some reason the £277 Amazon option is now on the right, and the £299 price is from a reseller.

Please unexpire!

Whoever expired this, please look more closely next time.

Just bought from a shop online and got an original 30.00 claim form from a shop in cardiff.

Fingers crossed, it will be 250.00 all together if panasonic accept the claim

The price is now £269.90!

Was just going to post this. Bargain at £269

bought tz7 from amarzon last month for £200

Really want this camera especially as it has GPS. Whenever I take photos on my phone I always GPS tag them and don't want to be without this feature now. Yes it is a drain on the battery but hey.

If you didn't need HD movies why were you looking at the TZ7 in the first place? TZ6 / TZ65 would do the job for you cheaper and the latter fell as low as £149.

Its not only gps that has changed on this.

the TZ7 if you zoom in hd mode it goes all blury to catch up, the tz10 doesnt.

I just received my Blue one from photosence for 274.00 and its amazing, and not sure why people are saying about low light, I took a pic last night in my bedroom with 1 light on and it was amazing quality

I am happy I chose this, plus you can get 30.00 off tz10 right now if you buy from a shop instead of online which is cheaper than amazon.

I have version 1.0 firmware, can I use TP batteries.

Or do I not want to do this

Good price. Split between this and the Sony HX5.

You might want to look at the Nikon P100....... beats both of them and full 1080p video recording ;)

You might want to edit your post before a mod does as advertising your stuff on Ebay is against forum rules. :)

is it true that you cannot turn the gps off, wouldn't that shorten the battery life?
#28
I have a TZ7 and I'm really disapointed in the image quality it produces. I've gone back to using my old digital camera instead. Yet, the TZ range seem to get great reviews....
#29
I just bought a TZ7 and have been thrilled by the image quality - even indoors I'm getting great quality images, even when I look at them blown up full size up my laptop. Outside the images are superb. Blew away the FujiFilm F72EXR which I recently sold on due to disappointing image quality.

I was tempted by the TZ10 but couldn't justify the extra cost for features I wasn't interested in - GPS is great if you visit varied and interesting places, tough I have read it's a terrible drain on the battery.

fantastic price though +1

Nope, there are 3 different modes:
1) GPS off
2) GPS on only while the camera is on
3) GPS on even when the camera is off (it checks it's position every 15 minutes or so, so you don't need to wait for it to get a fix when you want to take a picture).

Not really, as I got my blue one for 274.00 - 30.00 cash rebate, I would rather spend the extra as it looks nicer and also has more fetures, not just GPS

They look identical - what aesthetic differences on the TZ10 make it look better than the TZ7?

I suggest people read some of the pro reviews as many suggest image quality has actually decreased from the TZ7 to the TZ10.
suspended#36
this is a great camera and yes you can turn the gps off and not have it drain the battery. If only cameras this good were £100 :P AVC-HD lite is a nice feature, hopefully 1080p will be added to the next model.
#37
Those mobile from late 2006 have had GPS, its just nothing much new now that they have it in compacts. Without equally good PC software, its not that useful imo.

Panny refreshes these about once a year, if you could wait - then the next model is sure to offer improvements. The question is, could you wait another year?
#38
OMG, I wish people would concentrate on the offer as posted.

Yes you can bemoan the quiality of the TZ10 over the TZ7 and the improvements made, the point is that Panasonic make subtle changes to each of their cameras and these ARE improvements.

If you don't like GPS then TURN IT OFF !! If you wanted it then it is a improvement to the TZ7.

It has more megapixels, a longer zoom, no doubt a better lens, better firmware to amnage the images, a newer OIS system (or are you going to try and say this is no improvement either).

It's like the PC market, you buy one only to find that a month later a new processor comes out that is marginally quicker than yours, but unless you benchmarked them, they both do the job pretty well.

This is the case with Panasonic Lumix cameras - I own a TZ5 and it takes great pictures. Should I buy a TZ10; Yes if I want the latest gadget, with toys to play with, or should I buy the TZ7 with its HD Camcorder-ing. Or should I buy neither as the TZ5 does what I want it to do, that is take good quality images with a long optical zoom, superb battery life, non too heavy, and reliable.

If you have not got a camera then buy the TZ10 with the £30 offer, I'm sure you won't be disappointed, but for god's sake stop moaning about it, the TZ7 is a year old, its price will continue to fall, and you can keep watching that until the TZ12 comes out or open your wallet and make the jump now. :x

I got Canon PowerShot A510 (Photo quality is very good)

Is it worth upgrading to Panasonic TZ10 ???

If you're happy with the Canon - then NO - it'll cost you a lot of money and you'll probably see no significant improvement in picture quality...

Presumably you like the idea of an upgrade and a compact zoom lens; so why not go to the shop and play with Canon Sx200, Fuji F70exr, TZ6/7/10 and buy whichever suits your budget.

Some newer features like the OIS and even, now that it's matured properly, face detection are undoubtedly good; others like HD video have plus and minus points (you'll need a powerfull PC and software to edit the vids); other features like "Face recognition" are simply gimmicks that don't work well (yet); whether the GPS will be truly usefull will depend on the software that comes with it etc.
