Panasonic TZ20 "Travelzoom" Camera £169.99 at Amazon (and Jessops)
As this has now been replaced by the TZ30 (£300!) we can expect to see prices come down. This is the cheapest it has been on Amazon and is the same price at Jessops (where you may get 4% quidco cashback to take it down to around £163).
Well reviewed camera along with other choices such as the Canon SX220/230HS, Sony HXV9 etc
No Panasonic cashback on this as far as I could see.

A good website for comparing camera specs/ratings is Snapsort
.Pleased with it got it because it does 10fps at full quality and 16x zoom the HD
video is very good as well and records AVCHD rather than m jpeg so you dont
need large fast sdcard class 4 works ok
Got sony AVCHD camcorder and its as good as that in good light
Pics bit noisey in low light but i am comparing it to my Pentax DSLR
Got mine for £135 sold out quick though but this is great price for uk spec one
that's available now

It's a solid and responsive camera which is feature packed (sometimes bordering on the silly, with face recognition, music for slide shows...). My main issue is that picture quality is only average, even at 100 ISO, and that some critical photographic controls are limited (no access to sharpening or noise reduction... and of course no RAW shooting). Battery life is pretty good, and video in iA mode works well (less so in PASM when light is poor).
I have since bought a Canon S100 (for twice the money), which is in an entirely different league
My main issue is that picture quality is only average,
Yep, that's consistent with the TZ20 reviews.
So ok its no better picture quality than the TZ 10 it replaced but its got loads more features
and at this price its no more expensive
On the plus side it great video HD mode with dedicated button and the 10fps at full quality
16x optical and very fast auto focus that's main reason i chose it
£169.99 imo is great value for what you get would not buy for normal price nearly £300
plenty of better at £300

Agreed again, but they've fixed it all with the TZ30 and 20x zoom too. Now we just have to wait a year for the price to come down to something sensible; in the meantime I'll stick with my TZ10 (which replaced a TZ5).
Have you seen this one LEICA V-LUX 30 looks
like TZ 20 but its selling for about £500 to £600
