Probably the best compact on the market

Hmmmmm, I doubt that.
Amazing camera, at £199 i'll buy but not over £200!
Care to expand on your comment?
I'd be interested to hear of a better one for £230.00 or less please?
great camera - 12x optical zoom + HD movies are great, (check out my Muse at o2 Arena videos to see the quality ("nicknackered" on youtube)
Hmmmmm, I doubt that.

It all depends what you want from a camera. However, I have had a TZ7 for a few months now and I have to say that its the most capable compact I have ever owned and I have owned quite a few from Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Fuji and Panasonic. I have also owned 4 DSLRs and I have to say that I'm VERY impressed with the TZ7 indeed.

There may be other compacts that are better in some areas but as an all rounder the TZ7 will take some beating.
Its a good allrounder as said above, but unless you need the zoom (which most people quickly realise they don't use much) its quite a big 'pocket' camera, personally for a point and shoot I always go for something much smaller than this (panasonics FX range are superb). I voted hot, as not sure I've seen it cheaper.
This is the going price and has been for a while now [the black one anyway] e.g. Amazon Not voted either way.

I bought one for the wife very recently from one of the CDiscount deals posted on here  which cost £204.

Excellent camera for the price I think - shes away today to Boston for a week [ the main reason it was bought now] to give it a 'workout' in the real world, so will see the results in due course..

I too think it'll dip below the £200 mark before long.

The other one we compared against was Fuji's 200EXR [she wanted a 3" screen] which is now a lot cheaper by comparison at £180, but lacks both the Panny's huge zoom and HD video capability.
£218 at simplyelectronics with code HOT5OFF
Getting close, I think after xmas it might reach my price point.
