Panasonic Viera TX-P50U10B 50" Full HD Plasma TV - 400 Hz

Step up to plasma quality with the Panasonic Viera TX-P50U10B 50" Full HD Plasma TV. Despite its enormous 50-inch screen and superlative image quality, this HDTV is offered at a very attractive price.

If you've never witnessed the outstanding beauty of a high-quality plasma panel, the Panasonic Viera TX-P50U10B is a great opportunity to change that! The expansive Full HD 1080p resolution is backed up by an impressive 30,000:1 native contrast ratio, which rises to 2,000,000:1 in dynamic mode to ensure deep blacks and rich colours.

Plasma panels are inherently viewing-angle free, so everyone in the room can enjoy the fantastic picture at its best. And if you enjoy watching sports or action movies, you'll surely appreciate the 400 Hz Intelligent Frame Creation of the Viera TXP50U10B television, which creates astonishingly smooth motion.

Of course the Panasonic Viera TX-P50U10B 50" Full HD Plasma TV also supports modern conveniences such as JPEG photo or ACVHD video playback from SD memory cards, a built-in digital Freeview tuner, and 24p playback for brilliant movie watching. Two HDMI connectors round out the package, allowing you to connect a Blu-ray player or game console - or both!

Nice meter, is it yours?

I take it this TV uses more electricity than an illegal skunk factory?

Modern 50" sets only use 250-300w in practice, unless you run them in torch mode (ie 3 pence per hour).

As to this set, the S10 is better and on offer around the same price now.

proving you don't know about modern plasma tv sets....

I've got an ex-display 46" version of this TV and while it's a huge TV with decent blacks, the number of colours it's capable of showing is limited; in that it feels like its producing a 16-bit colour image. It makes gradients and the transitions between colours quite harsh, for instance the left side of someone's face may have a noticeable green hue, while the other side has an orange hue, since it doesn't have the necessary colours to accurately portray the image. A lot more noticeable in standard definition, in HD I still prefer this TV to newer LCDs.

It may be that my TV has an issue, but from my experience I'd recommend going with newer Panasonic ranges. I'm waiting for a good deal on the V or maybe G series for instance :)

If you can afford this telly than go for it, never mind the '' ooh it'll cost an arm and a leg to run '' brigade, it'll be worth it.
