Cheers

Out of interest do you get the HD channels just by plugging in your TV ariel? I have standard freeview at the moment so can I just take out the ariel and plug it into this one (S20)?

Sorry to be a bit of an amateur!

If your transmittor sends Freeview HD then yup, plug the ariel in and it will find it when it scans for new channels.

Freeview Channel Finder
If you go here you can put your postcode in and it will tell you what you can get. Well predict anyway!

Thanks again. looks like I'd be fine.....now if I could just get it past the funding committee!

Just put your postcode into the Freeview website and it will give you details as to if you can
received HD now or if not when.

very good television and what a stunning picture

S10 Series, wave goodbye to the black levels in a few months, these have a well documented fault/feature which can't be fixed.

Shame about the negligible (0.5%) quidco.
Could someone briefly outline the advantages of spending an extra £80 on the newer version on amazon please? Any practical differences other than Freeview HD? Better connectivity, more SCARTs, better picture quality?
Cheers

If this is true, this would be a definite deal breaker for me.

Lack of Freeview HD is no big deal. You can simply buy an external Freeview HD box, when there are a decent number of channels. In fact, I prefer to use an external box for Freeview.

if your buying a big tv the chances are you already have the required tv subscription for HD! and if you dont why buy a ferrari and put a minis engine in??

Great deal on the panny! and DaleR im sorry but i work in electronics and I have never encountered 'these high rates' you talk about!

It seemed to be only the G10 and V10 last year that suffered from the rising blacks, which was part of last years NEo PDP problem. I have the C10, no problem after 9months and plenty of use

The S20 will have better blacks, Neo PDP, less electricity consumption, a little better colours and overall contrast. There isn't that much in it, but the S20 will have a little better picture quality. Although I've known someone who compared a G10 (practically the same as the S20) and X10 and couldn't tell the difference on any source

I have an identicle model as the 46S10 for sale in the 46PZ82 (same spec - year older but same processing and panel) if anyone fancies it for £450

I'd recommend going for a 50incher all the same
