The advertised price at RicherSounds is £626.90 with 5yr guarantee

Richersounds will beat the price of ANY online store price as long as it includes the 5yr guarantee.

John Lewis sells this for £569 WITH 5 yr guarantee, so Richersounds will match that price and take £10 off

Richer price match terms & conditions extract...

"• All that we ask is that the product be brand new, boxed and actually in stock at time of purchase.

John lewis stock level for this particular TV...

Free 5 year guarantee
£569
Out of Stock

And when it comes to buying a hi tech device such as a Plasma...I know who I'd rather trust to honour the 5 year guarantee. For the sake of a tenner, John Lewis is the way to go - everytime.

Richersounds is a VERY reputable company.

They usually throw in freebies too.
I bought a TV at xmas and they threw in 2 HDMI cables when I mentioned it was for 360 and PS3 use. Not the cheapy HDMI cables either, they were priced at £14.99 each

Also heres a voucher for free headphones with any purchase too (probably ****** ones, but free!)

I din't say they weren't but in a head to head ...

A pile it high, sell it cheap outlet vs A long established quality department store

John Lewis gets my money every time.

It's all incidental anyway...your deal isn't a deal because John Lewis have no stock & therefore Richer won't price match.

Richer Sounds for me EVERYTIME, Id rather pay slightly more from them as I personally know that they do not quibble over their guarantee.

Well, perhaps there are some JL branches that have it in stock ?? If not, then I guess it's not a deal - but then your "head to head" choice doesn't exist either....

I don't think this deserved to be so cold! I like buying stuff from the "little guys" just like today i could have bought the autotrader from tesco while i was out driving but thought i'd rather buy it from my local shop!

Erm, they're not a cheap outlet.

Well, they used to be...pile it high & sell it cheap (the Lidl of the hifi world).

Now they're just living on the old reputation...I concur that they're not cheap anymore.

They're also a bunch of shysters, backed up by what this poster established....

"Just an update on the RS pricing. I have just found out that they won't do the £599 price with the Panasonic 5 year warranty - wanting £750 in that instance!

But my local [Belfast] shop manager said he would do it for the usual cost of their own warranty as a 'one off' i.e. £660....

However I've just placed my order with JL for £639 - and no delivery charge to NI!"

Or from another on the same thread...

"Exactly, I still don't see what grounds they have of not giving you the free 5 year Panasonic warranty on their advertised price? I bought a Pioneer plasma from them a few years back, and their practices were even more dodgy then! They'd advertise a price, but that price was only valid if you took out a 2 year warranty with them... so you could never buy the set for that price as you'd have to buy the warranty as well!"

So their headline figure looks good, but actually they won't honour bits of the detail (5yr warranty) with significant extra cost.

Stick with John Lewis every time.
