just like this one from currys for £899 but without the warranty.

Not sure if they are still never knowingly undersold?
#2
like the poster said tv and basic stand is just £911 with 5 year warrenty inc delivery. currys is 899 + 20 delivery and most probably 1 year cover. so a much better deal overall.

You have to remember its £1099 at Currys with floor stand

Just looked up John Lewis pricematch here seems to me that they would price match with currys, also as the 5yr warranty is free it shouldn't be included in the equation. At least that's what I would argue.

Also if an internet order delivery from currys is free

You can of course get 5% off the Currys price and get free delivery still by using codes. The real draw is naturally that amazing 5 year warranty :)

The only way i'll manage to summon up the necessary extra money though is if I buy some John Lewis gift vouchers on my credit card to make up the difference in price and put the rest on my debit card :viking:

Do you know if JL would pricematch the Ask price of £899, could it be done over the phone ?, my nearest JL is a 80 mile round trip, worth it if i can get it at that price over the phone and then collect.

Mine's a ridiculously long trip and I don't even own a car... So I doubt I'll be getting a price match out of them

Mr Hunter, you should also tell people that with the Ask deal you get:

[LIST]
[*]no remote control
[*]1 year warranty
[*]and you have to collect it

Don't forget 8% quidco too = about £85 plus the £15 voucher = £100 off!

I just cancelled my PCWorld order for a 37CAB for £818 to get this 42CAB + 5 year warranty for effectively £962.

I never like buying anything from DSG anyway!

Does anyone know if John Lewis will price match with other online stores, as i've found the same tv with the stand at £919 plus £30 for shipping.

I've actually been reading up on the reviews on this and i can't find enough good things mentioned, they're saying it's the best 42" tv on the market.

They won't PM online stores.

Would the website pricematch other stores who have a website and some highstreet outlets, as i would like to claim the quidco 5% cashback or do i have to pricematch from other local stores, if so, how local would it need to be?

By the way, to the person that said Quidco is 8%, that's for different types of products, as they will provide you with 5% on tvs.

I tried to order on John Lewis, but instead of £1064, i get £1114???? can anyone help?
#20
Looks like they have put the price up

shxt. do you think its likely to be cheaper price after new year/ new year sale? or should I just grab one now. spoke to some retails , the impression is that the price likely to drop further. any other view?

I bought my TH42PX60 from John Lewis back in May.

This is the constraint of their price match policy :-

The price must be offered by a high street store, the price must be displayed on the shopfloor and it must be like for like (same package - TV & stand etc)

I price matched against Currys, Dixons and Empiredirect.

Find what you think is the best price, then send an email to all the John Lewis stores, the link is here http://www.johnlewis.com/Help/Email.aspx, asking for a pricematch with the store(s) you've found, at the price you found.

You can get them to continue to pricematch upto a month after you bought the TV - I got £200 credited to my credit card due to a price match, 2 weeks after I'd picket the TV up.

Good luck & Happy new year !!:-D
