Sit back and enjoy stunning HD images with this Panasonic Viera TH42PZ81B 42 plasma television. It features a built-in freesat tuner so you can enjoy HD channels from the BBC and ITV without the need for an external box.

Its state-of-the-art technology gives amazing picture quality, with the Intelligent Frame Creation giving fantastic resolution even during fast moving scenes something football fans and film buffs will both appreciate.

Every image is richly detailed - from the brightest sunshine to the darkest night sky - and contrast is enhanced by the new Real Black Drive system that creates deep, robust blacks and reproduces scenes with a fine balance of light and shadow.

Sound is enhanced with its in-built V-Real Pro 3 surround sound technology (with bass extension), while the 24p Real Cinema settings offers enhanced judder-free playback, giving a smooth film look. The 3 HDMI sockets allow you to hook-up your Blu-ray player, PVRs and games consoles with ease.

The TH42PZ81B is also capable of playing footage straight from your camcorder in high-definition mode and you can view a slideshow of your photos - just remove the SD memory card from your digital still camera, and slip it in the slot.

Wow!

You don't say!!

It's £400 less and a better deal so that's why I posted it. Cue all the fanboys:whistling:

Are you old enough to be up this late?
#7
Good price for a 1080p plasma, as well as the 5 year warranty which would normally set you back around £250.

No reason to NOT vote this hot if you're looking for a 1080p plasma display.

Hmmm. No doubt you will complain someone buys a porsche when they could have saved money and bought a Fiesta?

Useless analogy. More like choosing between a Seat and a VW.

If you are going to compare, then sort yourself out. 'cos you've obviously never worked in Brand Management:p

if you can pick a freeview box up for a couple of quid how long before the same applies to a freesat box .................... just the latest hd gimmick.............. great picture though especially through the only tv worth spending money on .....a P * O * I * E * R ..... oh well back of to watch my top notch tele then. ta all you lesser pani fannys

im with the old timer on this one ;-)

nothing better than a fight starting over what is basically a inferior tele .............. come on then ( in a mild joyfully polite tone)

anyway if you can afford this you can nearly afford the best plasma available if you've got that money to spend... why shop elsewhere

Do you need to get a sky dish bolted to the wall or has it got freeview too?

No, I'm not "familer" with anything:p
#19
cheapskate58.... Talk a lot, don't you? But nothing useful to say....
Seems to have something against Panasonic...
#20
Why would I have anything against Panasonic? I've got two Panny DVD machines that still give sterling service every now and again.

But you are a fool to think that being a "fan" or otherwise of a brand makes you a wise punter.

This is an expensive TV versus the competition. To say that it is worth it because it is a Panasonic set and has a five year guarantee is just plain stupid:p
#21
But to compare it to that LG is equally as stupid.

I still think you have nothing useful to say...

No it's not. Explain yourself.

Well you would because, actually, you are the one with nothing to say apart from that:p

Well, the Panny 'PZ' is a 'full' 1080p panel. That means it has 1080 rows of pixles, right? The LG panel you listed only has 786 rows. The Panny is a much higher resolution panel. Whether it's useful considering most people's eye sight and their viewing position is debatable, but if you want a full 1080p panel, the LG doesn't cut the mustard.

Maybe, but at least I don't spout ****.,

For the record, I've got a Panny 768 row 'PX' plasma. Am I a Panasonic fan boy? Maybe, but I consier it to be the best flat panel for the money when I got it. Pioneers are better, but cost a lote more and are not such good value. LG's may be good if price is really important, but I don't consider them such good value, as they're not as comfortable to watch. YMMV...

Dear oh dear. You've got upset over a TV:-D

"LG's may be good if price is really important, but I don't consider them such good value, as they're not as comfortable to watch. "

WTF does that mean?

I had to look up YMMV. Thus I was going to get you to look up GFYYSW but I'm not that childish:p

I should also add that I've not voted hot or cold on this one, as I'm not aware of the latest prices for this kind of TV and I don't think most people can tell 1080p from 720p in typical installations.

However, if you're going to be disruptive and give the original poster a hard time, at least compare like with like, and justify why their find isn't such good value or where they can get it cheaper!
#26
It's quite a good TV, no idea why it's voted cold. It's the same price at most places, even Richer Sounds.

However future iterations of this from Pana and other manufacturers will be better.

The person that compared this to the LG clearly on a windup

Correct. I don't work in brand management. Congratulations.

I do however know a fair bit about Plasma TVs. Something you clearly don't.

No you don't!!

You're the "musthave100 Beko 32" LCD refurb scam" expert:p

No wind-up at all.

Just read what you wrote tho'!

This isn't that good of a deal considering Panasonic are offering the 5 year warranty for free as standard for the time being.

I spoke to a retailer on tottenham court road (the spurs thing has nothing to do with you Guv lol) and I negotiated the 85 model instead of the 81 which is supposed to be better for £850 including delivery and 5 years warranty marked down from £1199.
