someone slap him on the back - he's choking on his own cleverness, and if you read on even the op says not to buy 'til after Christmas. Lastly has anyone dealt with DSG customer services?

Agreed, such a negative post.

Anyway, its been a bit cheaper recently, £600 is about the standard price. Best Buy was £550, Amazon was £580, Richer Sounds are also selling this off for £600 and they have the awesome warranties, John Lewis also had it at £599 with a free 5 year warranty.

The newer models are due to be released in a few months time, but nevertheless this is a brilliant TV, and the upgraded models of the 20 series usually cost £900-ish for the first few months of release.

I am hoping BUT happy to wait until soon after. John Lewis did this for £599.99 a month ago after a campaign against their scam price matching. They relented and price matched with FREE 5 yr Guarantee so hopefully they will do it without hassle this time.

Not bothered if it gets heat - I am 40+ yrs old and COLD or HEAT does nothing for the ego... It is the morons (don't post their reasons because they are embarrassing) voting cold who ruin a deal for others.

I didn't know Richer Sounds were selling this off at £600.00 - not seen that deal.... Thanks that could be of use. Standard price is/was £699 recently with £650 been a regular offer, £599.99 bottom price inc 5 yr warranty. Not interested without a free 5 yr warranty.
EDIT: not much use seeing as they are not!

It was showing at £599 online yesterday but they have now increased it to £649.95

Laskys.com has had it for £599 quite some time now, hopefully a retailer which offers a 5 year guarantee price matches then I would buy.
#13
we bought from JL and got them to price match prc direct who have an instore only deal of £589 inc 5 year warranty. We bought from JL store rather than online as wasn't sure if they'd price match prc as it was an instore only deal & you couldn't get that price online. We bought from JL having first checked that prc would be getting stock in, & then as soon as stock came in called JL & they price matched it. If it reduces further after xmas, then will get them to price match again, so don't really understand not buying now when you have 28 days to price match? hope that helps.
p.s tv is fab!!

Thanks alot that is very very good information. I have never heard of PRC Direct - are they just in Essex? 5yr Free warranty very good info. Thanks again - once the room is done (after Christmas) I will look into this.
#15
I think they are yes.. but JL all over... you wanna get in quick before 20% vat too....
#16
This a superb tv but I read that Panasonics are not without their reliability problems so I wouldn't buy it without a 5 year warranty. Come on John Lewis bring it back down.
#17
LoL @ Plasma!
#18
This as some will know has been slightly cheaper than this before now. Cheapest I have seen it so far was £550 at Amazon.

Good TV, lots of features, average price.

Various retailers seem to have this for £599 (& £569) quite often.... but retailers seem to frequently put the price up and down.

The best things come to those who wait.... It will be sub £500 soon (even with VAT increase)..... have patience. My guess is £499.99 by end of January.

We got one a few weeks ago and I was skeptical it would be better than my old Picture Frame Toshiba...but it's amazing.
I watch a lot of movies so Plasma was the way to go for me.

you still haven't bought it? lol I'm happy I took the chance with the £799.99 package surround sound speakers from JL, I'm sure it will go below 599.99 with 5 year warranty after xmas, but I'm also sure there will be VERY limited stock, so if you are after this particular TV, I would go for it.

hi this tv was £489 a few weeks ago at costco with 15% extra quidco cashback included so cold from me. To be honest panasonic plasma tvs dont come much lower than £500 anyway.
#22
If people want it now, why not try to get JL to PM with Prcdirect (I did and have the telly in front of me)?
#23

To be honest tv's are coming down fast and i think people generally want a good plasma or lcd when they buy one and dont mind paying £200 extra for a tv with a decent picture, i see a lot of tvs in peoples houses (lcd and plasma) and to be brutally honest around 60 to 70% are crap pictures, strobing and bitty pictures etc. I would only ever buy a tv that has had many reviews from consumers due to the fact that most tvs do not look the same when you bring them home and place in your living room etc. This would be the tv i'd go for due to many good reviews but not at £600 with 1 year guarantee.

I havent read any reviews on the particular set your talking about, but i do know that mainly TVs getting over 40" start to loose there quality. Plasma technology is much better suited to a 42" television and would probably produce a better picture. The one your talking about im sure would be great though, but in general at larger sizes, plasma or LED.

Plasma re ps3 and football plus therefore picture quality. This tv has Carlos has never been 489 at Costco. It was 599 plus vat.
This is the highest I would pay but with free five yr warranty. May buy and keep boxed until room done.

Wasn't this 539 last week at JL? Price now back to 599.
#33
No...it's currently £679.95 at John Lewis and has not been any cheaper than £599 (when it sold out insanely quickly) there, that was a few weeks ago for one day.

This is a good price, not incredible but good. Hot!

As that deal (£489) has now expired it only shows new price at best buy but if you search deano467 posts it would bring up the original post.
#37
I bought the same serial numbered TV ending in 10 instead of 20 about 6 months ago, only to be told by my son that it is an integrated HD and will need a box such as sky box to get true HD. I felt RATHER stupid! I can about ITV HD and that's about it!
#38
I got one of these a few weeks back from Amazon for £579. First one went back due to the loud buzzing! Second one does buzz but not as loud but i seem to be the only one who can here it! The picture is amazing, watched avatar the other night and the picture is stunning.
#39
This price isn't that great I bought the S21 which was the ltd edition from comet (had freesat hd with it) for 639 with a free bluray player and a digital frame. Excellent tv though.
#40
Carlos you said at Costco which is five yr warranty and that deal you then change to is not valid re expired. Not bothered about votes. It is info. But if voting cold re old price then I would say that is just daft.
